Unbeknownst to them, Shen Ruo's mom and dad had already stood behind them without them noticing at all.
The voice came from Shen Ruo's mom.
"Dad, Mom? How come you're here?" Shen Ruo asked, standing up in surprise.
She wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but it seemed like her mom and dad's gaze lingered on Su Yi for a moment before settling on her.
"It was Mr. Gu who invited us here," replied Shen Ruo's dad.
Shen Ruo felt even more puzzled.
Shen Ruo's mom came up with a smile, took her arm, and said with a laugh, "Didn't you know? This banquet is hosted by Mr. Gu. He said he wanted to gather everyone and, incidentally, has something to announce."
Shen Ruo really didn't know this.
"Xiaoruo, did Mr. Gu bring you here? Mom has already seen the newspapers. When did you two start dating, and why didn't you tell me?"
Shen Ruo felt a pang of guilt. "I..."
