"What?" She didn't quite understand.
The next second, Gu Kai turned her head and kissed her lips.
A perfect French kiss left her blushing, heart racing, and gasping for breath. She had never been kissed like this in her life and could hardly react.
Amused, Gu Kai pinched her slender waist and slapped her buttocks lightly, chuckling, "Aren't you going to get off, or are you waiting for me to continue?"
"Bastard!" The purse hit his head without mercy, and Shen Ruo ran away as if for her life.
She hoped to never encounter this jerk again!
However, that French kiss was like a brand etched in her heart, impossible to shake off.
In Shen Ruo's view, Gu Kai's action was just a pastime for the wealthy. He would forget by the next day, or find a new target.
Unexpectedly, the day after work his car appeared again downstairs at her company.
Shen Ruo bolted, hopped into a taxi, and left the trailing car behind.
On the third day, the car did not show up, and she breathed a huge sigh of relief. Conveniently, there was a company party, and the venue was at 'Imperial Capital'.
That place was a playground for the rich, where one could show their status and enjoy premium treatment. Therefore, everyone often chipped in to have fun there.
Initially, Shen Ruo didn't want to go because she was afraid of encountering Gu Kai. But then she thought, why should she become timid because of him? She didn't want his presence to change her life.
Upon arriving at the dance hall, they chose a corner to sit down, and the eager young colleagues all rushed to the dance floor to revel.
Only Shen Ruo, who didn't dance, was sitting on the sofa, playing with her phone out of boredom.
"Miss, are you alone? Care for me to join you for a drink?" A man with a glass of clear liquor approached and sat down next to her.
A strong scent of alcohol wafted over – this man had clearly had quite a bit to drink.
His face, with a hint of ruffian charm, was red from excessive drinking, much like a cooked shrimp.
"Sorry, I'm not by myself," Shen Ruo moved to the side and said flatly.
She thought that would prompt him to leave on his own, but he thick-skinnedly scooted closer again.
Shen Ruo instinctively looked towards the dance floor; her colleagues were all partying and no one was paying attention to her. Even if she called for help, they probably wouldn't hear her.
