Chen Zhi curved her lips in a faint smile, then suddenly heard the "beep—beep—" of electronic equipment.
She turned her head and saw the electrocardiogram slowly turning into a flat line, her pupils dilated abruptly as an overwhelming fear besieged her heart.
"Beep—beep—" The fluctuations grew smaller and smaller, half of it had already become a straight line.
"Mom!" Chen Zhi dashed onto her mother, shaking her body vigorously, "Wake up, please. Mom, please wake up!"
Chen Zhi's mother still had her eyes closed, her face pale as if devoid of breath.
"Doctor!" Chen Zhi turned and ran into the corridor, crying out for a doctor, "Someone, please, save my mom, quick, somebody!"
No matter how much she shouted, no one appeared.
The fear inside her grew larger, and she ran back to the ward, only to see the electrocardiogram that had turned into a straight line, and she suddenly let out a shrill scream, waking up from the nightmare.
