After hanging up the phone, Chen Zhi dialed her mother's cell phone number again, but it was still turned off.
Her mother usually wouldn't go out at night, and even if she did go out, she would return quickly, never staying out past eight o'clock.
Where could she have gone?
Chen Zhi couldn't help feeling anxious; her mother's health was already poor, what if she had fainted on the road?
Just as Chen Zhi was about to go out and look for her, her phone rang. She thought it was her mother calling, only to find it was Si Ye.
Chen Zhi didn't intend to answer, but she was worried that Si Ye might have abducted her mother.
After a moment's thought, she answered the call, Si Ye's voice as deep and calm as ever.
"Finally answering my call?" he said.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"Come to the villa immediately, I need to see you."
"Why should I?"
"Woman, don't provoke me, or you'll bear the consequences." With that, Si Ye hung up the phone, as if he was certain she would come.
