Groggily opening her eyes, she saw a tall, dark silhouette in front of her.
Her pupils dilated instantly, and just as she was about to cry out in alarm, a large hand reached over to cover her mouth.
"Mmm..." she struggled for a moment before quickly quieting down.
The person wasn't a stranger; it was Si Ye.
Chen Zhi looked at him in surprise, not understanding how he had arrived here.
Si Ye glanced at Chen Zhi's mother on the bed, his eyes extremely cold and indifferent. He released Chen Zhi's mouth and signaled for her to go outside with him.
Chen Zhi glanced at her mother, then at the IV drip that was only a quarter empty before following Si Ye outside with reassurance.
Once they reached the corner of the corridor, Chen Zhi refused to go any further.
"Let's talk here. What do you want with me?"
Si Ye turned around, his expression slightly displeased, "Do you really not understand, or are you pretending not to?"
"Understand what?" Chen Zhi blinked, perplexed by his words.
