Chen Zhi's face flushed red.
"When I gave you the opportunity, you didn't want it, and now you're offering yourself to me. Chen Zhi, are you inherently cheap by nature?" Si Ye teased.
Chen Zhi's complexion turned from red to white. She pursed her lips tightly, a flicker in her gaze as she strove to maintain her composure.
The man seemed to appreciate this side of her, "Tell me, are you inherently cheap by nature—cheap?"
It was deliberate, absolutely deliberate!
He wanted to humiliate her, to have her learn that provoking him would not end well.
Chen Zhi opened her mouth and said with a calm yet trembling voice, "Yes, I'm inherently cheap by nature—cheap."
A hint of surprise flashed through Si Ye's eyes, but he concealed it well, and Chen Zhi did not notice.
He hadn't expected the tough-as-nails Chen Zhi to belittle herself in a subdued tone.
"Do you really want to save your mother that much?" he couldn't help but question.
Chen Zhi nodded, "Yes, that's right."
