Chapter 183 - My Time in the Sun

Celia stood outside the banquet hall doors, waiting for Tobin so they could walk inside together.

It was their one show of togetherness in their day, solely for their subjects' benefit. It was also a waste of time as far as Celia was concerned. Everyone knew the relationship between the crown prince and his wife was a cold one.

She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. The dull ache in her back and hips meant she wasn't feeling very patient. Celia decided if Tobin hadn't shown up by the time the chapel clock struck the hour, she'd just make her entry without him.

Did all expectant mothers feel so damn achy and grumpy? Again, she wished herself back in Islia so she could ask someone she trusted. Pregnancy was an utter mystery to her. Celia often found herself with a bunch of questions but with no one to answer them.

All she could do was see through each day and hope everything was well with her child.
