Chapter 171 - Sorry is the Hardest Word

After all the men had left her apartments, Celia was given a bath and changed into a nightgown and a fresh robe by her maids. Washing her hair and body was a long and awkward process, making it clear how much she'd be relying on others until her bones healed. 

During the bath, she'd also seen how Tamar had tried to be discreet while checking the bed for any sign of blood on the sheets. Fortunately, there hadn't been any. 

"Who knew being without a left hand made everything so hard?" Celia muttered as Rae gingerly placed her arm into its sling again, then helped her climb onto the bed. 

She sat back to catch her breath. Her wrist ached but it was bearable, especially once back in the sling. She looked at her maids at the end of her bed, a row of anxious faces standing at the foot of her bed. 

"I'd like be left to rest now." 

The maids frowned. "Are you sure you should be left alone, Your Highness?"
