Max, Rachel, Evelyn, and Cole regrouped in a different safe house, one of Max's last remaining sanctuaries in the sprawling urban jungle. It was a dingy basement beneath a defunct laundromat, but it was secure, and that was all that mattered.
"Nice job with the broadcast, Rachel," Max said, settling down at the makeshift table in the center of the room.
Rachel gave a tired smile. "It's not over yet. The Broker's going to come at us with everything he has."
Cole, ever the pessimist, chimed in. "And we've pissed off half the city's elite. We've got more enemies now than we can count."
