The days been a complete haze, "I think it's time to lay down and unwind." He said as he began to climb into bed to decompress.
Pulling out his phone he began to scroll thru Tik tok, hours and hours went by of this mindless scrolling until finally something caught his eye, a familiar place appeared on the video and the title? The title made him almost lose his breathe,
"If you see this, It's already to late".
The video showed a girl, no more than 25 years old, barely 5 feet tall, with black and green hair split down the middle.
She was walking thru a construction site, getting higher and higher on the unfinished scaffolding until finally her camera went black then there was nothing.
He looked down and saw the timestamp said "5 minutes ago", So something in him told him to get up! Go! Find her!
He grabbed his jacket and ran to his car, hopped in and sped away.
"I know where she is, i know ill find her" He Said.
Pulling into the site he jumped out of his vehicle not even turning it off,
He ran thru the site, up the flights of stairs and thru all the scaffolding until finally..
There she was taking that final leap over the edge.
He ran up to her as fast as he could screaming No!
She looked back as her body began to fall over the edge, all she could see was this man diving towards her with his arm reaching for her until finally! He caught her by her wrist, and she hung there over the edge like an ornament on a Christmas tree.
She looked up at him and screamed why?! Why'd you stop me? This was my choice and now you've taken that from me!
The man looked at her and said "Because you're not alone, It isn't! To late, and it had to be fate."
He began pulling her up from the ledge and as she reached the top he fell back and she landed on top of him.
She looked down sobbing still in disbelief that he found her. "How?" She thought.
What does this mean? It can't just be chance.
He looked up at her and asked, What's your name? "Esmeralda, but everyone calls me Esme" She responded
"Wow" He said, That's a very unique name for a very unique girl, in a very unique situation.
"What about you?" She asked. "What's your name?"
Michael, he responded.
With a shake in her voice and tear down her face she said, "Thank you Michael, honestly i was ready to say goodbye and didn't think anyone would have seen the video, let alone save my life".
Michael responded with, "It's what i do". What you do? She asked.
Yes I'm a police officer, saving peopleā¦ well trying to save people is my job.
They began to head down the stairs until Michael noticed something wasn't right.
"Get behind me" He told Esme.
He looked around and saw random boxes of ammunition and thought "this is odd, why would there be boxes of ammunition in a construction site?"
As they reached the final set of stairs Michael drew his firearm and signaled to Esme to stay low, stay behind and stay quiet.
Michael heard something in the distance and began to reach the final step, As he did he turned the corner and then BANG! There was a man with a shot gun who let off one round into Michael's chest.
As he fell to the ground he reluctantly shot 4 bullets towards this unknown man and killed him.
Lying on the floor Michael called out to Esme, "CALL 911!" Then everything faded to black.
