Chereads / The Immortal Eve [Apocalypse] / Chapter 40 - speech for battle

Chapter 40 - speech for battle

The atmosphere was thick with anticipation as the soldiers, warriors, and various factions lined up in front of the city. A sea of faces stretched as far as the eye could see—frontier soldiers standing tall alongside the towering giants, graceful elves, the remaining demons with their fierce determination, and the elite Cloud Knights from Xianzhou.

Eve stood at the forefront, her transformation complete. With her bloodline awakened, her black hair glimmered like spun gold in the fading light, and her once-blue eyes now glowed a fierce crimson. A potent aura of power surrounded her, reminding everyone of the strength she possessed.

Beside her were familiar faces—Xiao Ling, who had come a long way from her amnesiac state; Ty, steadfast and vigilant; Adam, his demeanor cold and calculating; Kane, nursing bruises that had become a running joke; Commander Cooper, looking every bit the leader he had proven to be; and Lieutenant Lastimosa, ever-ready for battle.

At the center of it all, Dr. Jin worked her magic, her hands weaving intricate patterns in the air as she prepared to open the portal to the Celestial world. The air crackled with energy, and the portal shimmered into existence, swirling with hues of blue and silver.

Commander Cooper cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the assembled masses.

**Commander Cooper**: "Everyone, we stand on the brink of a pivotal moment. We are united not just by our pasts, but by our hopes for the future. The Celestial world awaits, and with it, the fate of our realms. We must show them our strength, our resolve!"

Alexander stood off to the side, arms crossed and brow furrowed. The weight of the moment pressed heavily on his shoulders, and he felt the commander's gaze on him, urging him to take center stage. But Alexander shook his head slightly, refusing to step into the limelight.

**Alexander**: *muttering to himself* "Not today."

The commander, however, was relentless. He knew Alexander's strength, both in combat and in words, and believed that his voice would resonate with the crowd.

**Commander Cooper**: "Alexander, this is your chance to rally the troops! You have faced down demons and darkness. Your experiences can inspire them! The soldiers need to hear from you."

Alexander took a deep breath, allowing himself a brief moment to observe the sea of faces before him. Each one was filled with hope, fear, and determination. The sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a golden hue over the gathered crowd, illuminating their resolve against the impending storm.

**Alexander**: *softly, almost to himself* "What do I even say?"

He watched as the setting sun painted the sky in vivid colors, a stark contrast to the impending battle that loomed over them. Winter snow began to drift down gently, creating a serene moment amidst the chaos of the approaching war.

**Commander Cooper**: "Look at them, Alexander. They believe in you. This is more than just a fight; it's about the future of our worlds."

Despite the weight of expectation, Alexander remained silent, contemplating his thoughts. The crowd was a mix of various factions, each with their own histories and burdens. He felt the need to address them, but the words seemed to elude him.

As he gazed at Eve, her newfound strength palpable, and Xiao Ling, who had fought so hard to regain her identity, he felt a flicker of inspiration. Yet, he still hesitated, caught in the moment.

**Alexander**: *to himself* "Maybe I don't need to give a speech. Maybe actions will speak louder."

And so, he stood there, awaiting the moment when he would finally find the words to inspire them—his heart a storm of thoughts and emotions as he prepared to lead them into a battlefield.

The air around Alexander shifted as he began to speak, his powerful aura radiating outwards, capturing the attention of every soldier and warrior gathered before him. He stood tall, his presence commanding respect and drawing the eyes of millions. The setting sun bathed him in a warm glow, accentuating the fierce determination in his eyes.

**Alexander**: *voice steady, resonating through the crowd* "Death is the only thing that ever embraced me... How many times must I die before I learn to live?"

The crowd shifted, a mixture of emotions flickering across their faces. They could feel the weight of his words, the truth embedded within them.

**Alexander**: "I'm not the same person I was before the war started. My name is Soldier."

His voice rose in intensity, each word dripping with raw power. It was as if he was channeling every hardship he had ever faced, every battle he had fought, and every life he had lost.

**Alexander**: "I fight until the blood takes the sword from my hand. Until I can only crawl, and even then, you will not defeat me!"

He took a step forward, the energy around him pulsing like a heartbeat, resonating with the hearts of those who stood before him.

**Alexander**: "Even then, I will not surrender! Let fear make you bold!"

With each declaration, the soldiers felt their spirits ignite, their resolve strengthening as they absorbed his energy.

**Alexander**: "DO NOT GIVE UP! YOU WILL NOT FAIL IF IT IS WORTH IT! WE BLEED ON THE SAME BATTLEFIELD, AND BLEED WE MUST!"

The ground seemed to tremble beneath them as his words echoed through the air, a rallying cry that pierced through despair and doubt.

**Alexander**: "I CAST MY EXCUSES INTO THE DIRT, AND THE PEOPLE CRY OUT FOR STRENGTH THAT IS ALREADY THEIRS!"

The crowd began to respond, a wave of energy coursing through them, a fierce acknowledgment of their shared struggles.

**Alexander**: "WHEN WE MARCH ON THAT BATTLEFIELD, SHOW NO MERCY! OUR DESTINY IS TO FIGHT, AND ONLY THE BRAVEST WON'T REFUSE! LIFE WAS ALWAYS A WAR!"

As he spoke, his gaze swept over the faces of those gathered, each one reflecting the weight of loss and the flicker of hope.

**Alexander**: "We lost friends, lovers, families... but you must never forget who you are! I know who I am, and I shall show the fallen what we can become!"

His voice was now a roar, the culmination of every hardship he had faced, every battle he had fought.

**Alexander**: "BECAUSE WE FALL, THE CLIMB MUST BE OUR NEXT DESTINATION! SO MARCH, MARCH WITH ME, FIGHT WITH ME, OR DIE WITH ME!!!!"

As he finished, the crowd erupted into cheers, a deafening roar that echoed through the city and beyond. Their hearts were set ablaze, their spirits ignited by his words. They were ready to follow him into the fray, to stand side by side with their comrades against the encroaching darkness.

Eve, Seraphina, and the others watched, their expressions a mixture of awe and respect. In that moment, they were united, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The time for battle was near, and together, they would rise or fall as one.
