Chapter 6 - Wishing death

Persephone's urgency cut through the air like a blade, her voice commanding and resolute as she urged Alexander and Ty into action.

"Take it to the fortified city of Pingyao immediately!" she yelled, her tone leaving no room for hesitation. "We must not waste any time, I will stay here here them off.

"No, Persephone," Alexander protested, his voice filled with urgency. "You can't stay here alone. It's too dangerous."

Ty nodded in agreement, her expression mirroring his concern. "We need you with us," she insisted, her voice tinged with desperation. "We can't afford to lose you."

But Persephone stood her ground, her eyes blazing with determination. "I cannot let you face this alone," she declared, her voice unwavering. "I will stay here and hold them off. Go, now, before it's too late."

A sense of despair washed over Alexander and Ty as they realized the depth of Persephone's resolve. They knew they couldn't change her mind, but the thought of leaving her behind filled them with a sense of helplessness.

"We can't just abandon you," Alexander argued, his voice tinged with frustration. "We're supposed to be in this together."

Persephone offered them a sad smile, her gaze filled with a mix of sorrow and determination. "You must go," she insisted, her voice gentle but firm. "There's no time to argue. The fate of our world depends on it."

With a heavy heart, Alexander and Ty exchanged a final glance before turning to continue their journey to Pingyao. The weight of Persephone's sacrifice hung heavy upon them, a reminder of the sacrifices they were all willing to make in the face of this war.

As night fell and portals began to appear in the forest, Persephone found herself facing a new threat: a group of assassins, their sinister intentions clear as they converged on the chest containing the Nether core, they soon realized the chest was empty.

With lightning speed, Persephone sprang into action, leaping forward to confront the assassins before they could lay hands on the chest. In a flurry of movement, she knocked the Vampire assassin into the river with a powerful blow and swiftly dispatched the Orc assassin with a well-aimed strike.

But her victory was short-lived as more portals began to appear, spewing forth hordes of Orcs and Vampires, their bloodlust evident in their frenzied charge.

Persephone braced herself for the onslaught, her senses heightened as she parried blow after blow from the Vampire named Djinn, the last remaining assassin. His attacks came fast and furious, each strike calculated to exploit her weaknesses.

But Persephone refused to yield, her determination unwavering as she met his assaults with skill and grace. With each clash of blades, she fought with a ferocity born of desperation, knowing that she need to bide time for Alexander & Ty to escape with the nether core.

As Orcs and Vampires closed in around her, Persephone stood her ground, her sword flashing in the moonlight as she prepared to face whatever came next. With every fiber of her being, she vowed to defend the Nether core and the hope it represented, no matter the cost.

As Alexander and Ty sought refuge in the cold expanse of the tundra, they hoped for a moment of respite from the chaos that had engulfed their world. But their hopes were shattered when a figure emerged from the shadows—a wounded Djinn, the Vampire assassin they had encountered earlier.

With a fierce determination, Djinn launched himself at them, his movements swift and deadly. Before they could react, he flung two knives coated in a special poison, aiming for their hearts with deadly accuracy.

Alexander and Ty sprang into action, their survival instincts kicking in as they dodged the deadly projectiles. With adrenaline coursing through their veins, they fought back with everything they had, knowing that their lives are in danger.

But Djinn was relentless, his skill in combat matched only by his determination to eliminate them. As they engaged in a desperate struggle for survival, the bitter cold of the tundra served as a chilling backdrop to their battle, a stark reminder of the harsh reality they faced.

As the deadly knife struck Ty in the stomach, Alexander's world shattered in an instant. He watched in horror as his companion fell, her life extinguished in a single, cruel blow. Overwhelmed by grief and rage, Alexander's vision blurred with tears as he picked up his sword, his hands trembling with a mixture of sorrow and fury.

With a primal roar, Alexander charged at Djinn, his movements fueled by an overwhelming desire for vengeance. But exhaustion weighed heavy upon him, his weary muscles protesting with each swing of his sword.

Djinn, sensing his momentary advantage, pressed the attack, his movements fluid and precise. With a swift motion, he slashed across Alexander's left eye, sending searing pain coursing through him.

But Alexander refused to yield, his fury burning like a flame within him. With a primal scream, he lashed out, breaking Djinn's arm with a savage blow. With a swift kick, he sent Djinn crashing into a nearby tree, the impact reverberating through the forest.

As Djinn struggled to rise, he managed to break Djinn's arm and kick him into a tree again. With a ferocity born of desperation, he smashed his Djinn against the tree, each strike fueled by the memory of Ty's death. With a final, decisive motion, he drove the knife that had taken Ty's life into Djinn's eye, the blade sinking deep into his skull.

As Djinn's lifeless body slumped to the ground, Alexander's left eye opened to reveal a terrifying transformation—a manifestation of his rage and anguish, taking on the appearance of a demon's eye of unusual colors.

In the morning, Alexander examined the knife that had struck Ty. His left eye now appeared normal once more. He carried Ty on his back through the forest and towards a cliffside where she suddenly dropped to the ground - signifying the completion of her transformation into a vampire due to Djinn's cursed knives.

Ty awakened in a feral state, thrashing on Alexander's back and knocking him down the cliff - causing him to lose his swords in the process...

When he came to, it was revealed that Ty had transformed into a Vampire Kin.

Ty attacked Alexander with ferocity - her first strike missing but the second forcing him to block the following series of attacks. Noticing his reluctance, Ty took advantage of this and punched him in the gut before unleashing a Shoryuken-style attack on him - launching him backwards.

She released a deafening shriek causing Alexander to cover his ears as her humanity was forced back into her. She then punched Alexander into a tree - knocking him out cold. Ty fled the scene, leaving Alexander unconscious. When he awoke, his left eye had once again turned to its demonic form, he then later found himself surrounded by two people.
