Soon, they reached a dark corridor, guarded by the armed men. They all stood like statues noticing Sirius's presence.Sirius glanced at Artemis with a menacing and taunting look as he knocked on the tall door. Then, he told Artemis to go first, since it was her who was going to meet Regan, her long lost sister.Artemis glared at him with anger and something else that he had seen from many women who wanted his attention....jealousy? He couldn't care less as he stepped aside to not be seen from the door.As soon as the doors swung open, Artemis stepped in, her steps unsure and uncertain. First, she saw no one in there, but in a corner, she saw a red haired girl with blue eyes, looking at her with confusion.Artemis stood there in silence, stiff as she felt too overwhelmed, the revelation that her sister was alive was astonishing and unbelievable.Meanwhile Regan looked at her with curiosity, taking in her fancy and wealthy atture. She peaked her head outside, since the door was still opened. The guards were there but Regan wasn't getting the point. Who was that woman?"Who are you?" she asked confusedly, upon seeing that the young woman in front of her was mouth sealed. Then, without warning, she approached Regan and pulled her in a strong hug. Tears threatened to fall in her eyes as she held Regan close.Meanwhile Regan stood stiff, confused and bewildered at the sudden hug. She furrowed her brows and tried to distance herself."I'm sorry, who are you?" Regan asked again.Artemis looked at her, noticing her scar, "Regan, I'm Artemis. I'm your sister." She said and wrapped her hands around Regan again."What? Sister?" Regan questioned weirded out. She broke the hug and Artemis took hold of her hands."Yes, you're my little sister," Artemis said.Regan looked at her with disbelief and she didn't know how to react. The least she was going to do was to have an emotional meltdown. She had learned so many foreign things about herself that it didn't felt surreal to find a sister. But still, it overwhelmed her, she had always thought herself as an only kid and even after learning her true origins, it didn't cross her mind that she might had a sibling."Well?" She said in uncertain, the skeptical mind kicking in, thinking if that was some sort of trap set by the ones she hated. As the same moment, she saw the sorcerer, who was leaning on the doorway, his gaze cold but amused nonetheless, a smirk on his face."I think I forgot, redhead. I didn't tell you about your sister," He suddenly spoke, his voice dripping with teasery."Regan, I've searched so much about you. I thought he had killed you," Artemis said, her voice shaky and Sirius rolled his eyes at hearing her."If you thought I had killed her, what were you searching for?" He taunted.Ignoring him, Artemis continued, squeezing Regan's hands, "Please say something."Then, something really tugged at Regan's chest. She had a sister, she really had someone from her lineage. Someone had just showed herself, someone who was bonded by blood with her. However, a part of Regan couldn't shake the feeling that this was a plan of Sirius, to manipulate her."I....don't know what to say. That's weird." Regan said in uncertainty.Artemis smiled at her and she stroked her long red hair, "I'm so happy we found each other." She exclaimed and stroked her long red hair."I....I am as well. I'm very happy...." Regan trailed off, unsure of what was she supposed to say and do."I think the meeting is done. Artemis, come with me and learn the deal," Sirius interrupted, his tone commanding.Artemis left Regan's hands and followed Sirius, curious to know what was he offering. He closed the doors of Regan's chamber using his usual magic and led Artemis to a nearby guest room.Artemis looked at him, a mix of anger and uncertainty in her chocolate eyes."The deal is, either take your sister away, vanish, disappear and never ever show yourselves again, or you let her here and continue your life." He stoically said, his gaze unwavering and his voice calmer in contrast to his words."Did you hear me, Artemis? I'm giving you the choices, take Regan and disappear. Do not ever show your faces in my dominions again. I don't care where you go, go as far as the magic doesn't reach. If you're not willing to do that, you can let her here."Artemis swallowed hard, knowing that what he was requesting was a hard thing to do."And where am I supposed to go?" She asked, frustrated."I don't care about that. Go to the nowhere. Just stay as far as you both can from me and don't ever think about staying in the North. You get it?" He repeated, his expression hard and menacing.Artemis nodded reluctantly, having no idea how she could stay somewhere else but in the North."Regan is also stubborn and vengeful. You have to convince her to never ever think of getting in my way again. Never ever think of fighting with me. That's your catch. It's your choice to decide," he added."You have told Regan about what you've done?""Yes, I did. She deserved to know.""Then, how do you think this'll end so easily? You didn't have to tell her in the first place!" Artemis retorted."I don't need permission for what I do. Now, if you're the responsible and caring sister you pretend to be, you'll find a way," Sirius said, despite deep down he knew that this didn't rely a bit on Artemis.Artemis looked at him, her eyes filled with a lingering uncertainty, "Why can't you just let it go? Leave us alone. I don't have to disappear just because you want to kill Regan and me.""I'm already letting it go. If you disappear and if none of you interferes with me again, I won't have any problem with each of you.""I'm.... I'm married, I can't just do this." Artemis trailed off, her voice unsure."Does it look like I care? Am I forcing you? No," He coldly said, his gaze distant, "But if you plan to take her, you must not go to the North," he warned again.Artemis took a deep breath, "Let's say I agree. How would you know we disappeared and aren't planning against you?"With a sly smirk, Sirius responded, "I'd know immediately if you betray or plan against me. So, don't worry. I'd know each one of your moves."Torn between her thoughts, Artemis knew that her husband wasn't going to like this but still, she couldn't bring herself to leave Regan here."Alright. I accept. We'll disappear and never ever cross you again," she agreed, trying to steady your voice."Good choice. But make sure to get Regan want the same thing," he responded, his voice cold but filled with a hint of amusement. "And, don't you ever dare reveal Regan's identity to anyone. Not even your close maids or anyone else. Understood?" He warned.Artemis nodded and walked out of the guest's chamber. She entered Regan's chamber again, finding her sister with the same confused expression."Regan we're going to leave. Now." Artemis declared abruptly, her voice carrying a sense of urgency."Leave? What?" Regan blue eyes widened in surprise. She had no idea what was going on and she couldn't help but think this was a trap she was set in.Artemis approached, walking near the wardrobe. She opened its door, searching for the clothes and grabbed a dark cloak. Then, she quickly wore it to Regan and tried to hide her face as much as she could, "We have to go. I'll take you with me and we'll disappear from this dark place.""But how? I..." Regan trailed off, and her gaze locked with Sirius, who stood on the doorway, his expression unreadable.Artemis hesitated for a moment, grappling with the right words. "There's a dangerous deal. We have to disappear, go far away, and never come back."Regan's brows furrowed, "Disappear? Why? What kind of deal?""You're asking way to many questions, redhead. What happened? Don't you want to leave now?" Sirius interrupted, a smirk playing on his lips.Artemis bit her lip, "It involves our safety. I can't explain everything now, but trust me, we have to go."Regan's eyebrows furrowed, she wasn't very convinced. "Go where? How can I trust you? And what about him?""He... he made a deal, and we have no choice. I promise, I'll explain everything once we're safe," Artemis reassured, reaching for Regan's hands."You're both wasting my time. Get the hell out of here, now." Sirius ordered, his voice low and dangerous. Her anger wore on a thin line and Regan walked to Sirius's direction and slammed the grand doors shut on his face, not caring if he was fuming or whatever. Then, she moved to the wardrobe and beneath the clothes, in a corner, she had hid the dagger that she stole from Allegra that day.Artemis looked at her confused as she mind questioned how Sirius didn't open the door again.Regan took a thick and tight belt from the wardrobe. She placed the belt around her waist and secured it tightly. Then, she put the dagger around the belt and threw her robe back in place; the way that it wouldn't ever be visible of what she was hiding."Regan, listen something. We should not reveal your identity to anyone. So, while on our road, don't talk about being my sister or about your powers. It's just for safety." Artemis said as she approached Regan and took her hands.Regan didn't answer, she wasn't even willing to do that.Knowing that they were losing time, Artemis led her out of the room. The sorcerer was still there, his expression guarded and menacing, his cold eyes filled with a lingering uncertainty.Regan narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously, fearing that this was one of his sinister plans. How was he willing to free her? What was the reason? As they walked down the dimly lit hallway, Regan's heart raced, her thoughts spinning out of control. She didn't know what to believe or who to trust. The only thing she knew for sure was that she didn't want to stay here.Artemis's maid was feet away and another maid of the castle came, escorting them out of the castle. The sorcerer's unreadable gaze followed them, an uncertainty lingering at him, hoping that he won't ever cross paths with her again, although deep down he knew that he would do it again. As a servant escorted them, the grand doors swung open and the foreign air hit Regan's face. Shivers ran down her spine, not because from the cold, but because she didn't know what she was doing.Artemis held her hand strongly and she fastened her pace. Meanwhile, Regan couldn't keep but glance behind her, the grandeur of the castle luring her to come back. The sorcerer stared at them from a dark window, his gaze lingering on his enemy. The girl from earlier, Lucy came back and asked Sirius if they were going to be followed or not.Sirius ordered for her that they should be followed, as he couldn't trust Artemis. She knew well enough the consequences of betraying him, but it was better to prevent any of this happening, rather than punishing her later. And then most importantly, he wasn't going to let Regan go and be harmed.Outside, Regan tightened the robe around herself and gazed at her surroundings. It was similar to the gardens of the castle. There were dark tall trees and shrubs with red roses. As they kept walking, they reached the gates of the castle, enormous gates that spoke of mystery and secrets.A large mass of armed men guarded the area and they cleared the way, their positions ready for any sign of disturbance. As the gates opened, Artemis, her maid and Regan stepped out of it. Regan couldn't help but feel a tug in her chest. What was happening was just unbelievable for her, it didn't seem real, it didn't seem true. It seemed like she was caught in another web of lies and soon she was going to be held captive again. As they walked farther, Regan's head would normally turn on it's back, seeing the beauty and the intimidation of the castle. On her way, stretched a large deep forest, one where Artemis was leading the way.
