Life is strange.

Friday, October 4.

Morty drove for what felt like hours, the familiar landscapes of his hometown giving way to the unknown. The road stretched out before him, winding through forests and along the coast, until he found himself in a quaint, picturesque town. A sign by the road read,

"Welcome to Arcadia Bay."

As he navigated the streets, he noticed a flyer on a telephone pole advertising a Vortex Club party that night. Feeling a mix of curiosity and a desire for adventure, Morty decided to check it out. He parked his Koenigsegg Gemera near the party venue and made his way inside.

The Vortex Club party was in full swing, the bass from the music reverberating through the building. As Morty mingled through the Vortex Club party, he caught the eye of Victoria Chase, one of the most prominent figures in the room. Her confidence was palpable, and Morty found himself drawn to her magnetic presence. Victoria sauntered over to Morty, a playful smirk on her lips.

"Well, hello there." Victoria purred, her voice smooth as silk.

"I don't think I've seen you around here before. You must be new." Morty grinned, feeling a surge of confidence as he met her gaze.

"Yeah, just passing through. Thought I'd check out the local scene." Victoria raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

"And what do you think of our little town so far?" Morty shrugged, leaning in closer.

"It's got its charm, I guess. But I think I prefer the excitement of the big city." Victoria laughed, a sound like tinkling bells.

"I can relate. Small towns can be so… dull." They chatted for a while, Morty finding himself drawn to Victoria's wit and charm. She asked him about his likes and dislikes, and he shared snippets of his life, careful to keep things vague.

"So, what's your story?" Victoria asked, her gaze lingering on Morty's face.

"Why'd you decide to come here?" Morty shrugged, feigning nonchalance.

"Just felt like it was time for a change, you know? Needed to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while." Victoria nodded, seeming to understand.

"I get it. Sometimes you just need to escape. Well, newcomer, I'm Victoria. Victoria Chase."

"Morty Sanchez. " He replied smoothly, extending his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Victoria." They shook hands, their eyes locking in an unspoken challenge. Morty could feel the tension between them, a mix of attraction and intrigue.

He knows that she is a stuck-up bitch that needs to be taught a lesson. She is too obsessed with her status and was stereotype of a Mean popular girl even though she's a bit of nerd

As they chatted, Morty found himself drawn into Victoria's world. They shared likes and dislikes, swapping stories and banter with ease. Victoria seemed genuinely interested in getting to know him, asking questions about his life and experiences.

Morty, in turn, found himself opening up to Victoria in ways he hadn't expected. He revealed his love for adventure and his desire to explore new places, capturing her attention with his presence of excitement and danger. Victoria leaned in closer, her voice low and sultry.

"You're quite an interesting fellow, Morty. I like that." Morty smiled, feeling a rush of exhilaration.

"Well, Victoria, I aim to please." Their conversation continued late into the night, the music and laughter fading into the background as they lost themselves in each other's company. Morty felt a growing connection with Victoria, a spark of attraction that was impossible to ignore.

As the party raged on around them, Morty made his move, leaning in to capture Victoria's lips in a soft, lingering kiss. She responded eagerly, her hands tangling in his hair as they lost themselves in the moment.

When they finally pulled apart, breathless and flushed, Victoria smiled up at Morty, a hint of mischief in her eyes.

"Well, well, newcomer. Looks like you've made quite the impression." Morty grinned, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

"What can I say? I aim to please."

Before they could say anything else, Morty smoothly slipped his phone out of his pocket and handed it to Victoria.

"Here, why don't you give me your number? We can continue this conversation some other time." Victoria smirked, punching her number into Morty's phone with practiced ease.

"I look forward to it, Morty."

With a final glance and a lingering smile, Morty left Victoria's side, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over him. As Morty made his way through the throngs of dancing students, he spotted a girl who seemed out of place. She was standing off to the side, looking anxious and uncomfortable. It was Kate Marsh, a girl he recognized from the game "Life is Strange."

Morty's gaze turned dark as he saw Nathan Prescott, a notorious troublemaker, approaching Kate with a sinister grin. Morty remembered the dark paths this could lead to and knew he had to intervene. He walked up to Kate, putting on his best confident smile.

"Hey, Kate," Morty said, stepping between her and Nathan.

"It's been a while. Let's catch up." Kate looked at Morty with confusion but also relief. Nathan frowned, clearly irritated by the interruption.

"Who the hell are you?" Nathan sneered.

"I'm a friend of Kate's," Morty replied firmly, meeting Nathan's glare.

"Come on, Kate. Let's get out of here." Without waiting for Nathan's response, Morty gently took Kate's arm and led her away from the party. Kate seemed dazed, her steps unsteady. Once outside, Morty led her to his car, helping her into the passenger seat.

"Thank you," Kate murmured, her voice trembling.

"I didn't know what to do. I felt so out of place there."Morty smiled reassuringly.

"It's okay, Kate. You're safe now. Let's get you somewhere to sober up." He drove to a nearby convenience store and parked, running inside to grab a bottle of water. He returned to the car and handed it to Kate, who took it gratefully.

"Drink this," Morty said softly.

"It'll help." As Kate sipped the water, Morty leaned back in his seat, giving her time to collect herself. She seemed nervous but also curious about him.

"Who are you, really?" Kate asked after a moment.

"I've never seen you before." Morty hesitated, unsure how to explain his presence in her world.

"My name is Morty Sanchez and I'm just someone who wants to help." He said finally.

"I saw you were in trouble, and I couldn't just stand by." Kate's eyes softened, her tension easing slightly.

"Thank you. It's not often someone steps in like that." They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the night air cool and soothing. Morty felt a strange connection to Kate, drawn to her kindness and vulnerability. He knew he couldn't stay in Arcadia Bay forever, but for now, he was exactly where he needed to be.

"Feeling better?" Morty asked, glancing over at Kate. She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Yeah, much better. Thank you, Morty." He returned her smile, feeling a sense of fulfillment.

"Anytime, Kate. Anytime."Kate looked at Morty with a mix of gratitude and curiosity.

"By the way, How do you know my name?" she asked, her voice still shaky but growing steadier. Morty hesitated for a moment, considering how much to reveal.

"I, uh, heard Nathan say it." He replied, hoping she wouldn't question it further.

"He was talking to someone about you before I stepped in." Kate nodded slowly, accepting the explanation.

"That makes sense. Everyone seems…out to get me." She was unsure why she was sharing this with a stranger but decided to trust him. Morty felt a surge of anger on her behalf but kept his tone gentle.

"I'm really sorry to hear that, Kate. People like them... they're the worst. But you're not alone, okay?" Kate looked at him, her eyes wide with a mixture of hope and disbelief.

"Thank you, Morty. I really needed to hear that."

Morty smiled, feeling a warm connection forming between them.

"Anytime, Kate. You're stronger than you think. Don't let anyone, especially someone like Nathan, make you feel otherwise." Kate nodded, seeming to draw strength from his words.

"I try to remember that. It's just... hard sometimes."

"I get it," Morty said softly.

"But you're not alone in this. There are people who care about you." Kate took another sip of water, her composure gradually returning.

"You're right. I have friends who support me. I need to remember that."

As the quiet hum of the car's engine filled the air, Morty glanced around, looking for a way to change the subject and lighten the mood.

"So, Kate, is there anywhere you'd like to go? Anywhere you feel safe?" Kate thought for a moment before replying.

"There's a diner not too far from here, Two Whales. It's usually pretty quiet this time of night. We could go there." Morty nodded.

 "Sounds like a plan."

He started the car and drove towards the diner, navigating the quiet streets of Arcadia Bay. The night was peaceful, the stars twinkling overhead, creating a serene atmosphere.

When they arrived at Two Whales, Morty parked the car, and they both got out. The diner had a warm, inviting glow, and the smell of fresh coffee and comfort food wafted through the air.

As they walked in, Kate seemed to relax even more. They found a booth near the window and settled in. A friendly waitress came over, and Morty ordered them both a couple of drinks.

"So, Morty," Kate said after a moment, her eyes meeting his.

"I know you said you heard my name from Nathan, but I still can't help feeling like there's more to it. You seem to know things… and people." Morty took a deep breath, deciding to be honest without revealing too much.

"Let's just say I've been around and seen a lot. I've learned to read people and situations pretty well." Kate studied him, then smiled softly.

"Well, whatever it is, I'm grateful you were there tonight." Morty returned her smile.

"I'm glad I was too." They chatted for a while longer, sharing stories and finding common ground.

"So, Morty," Kate began, her eyes curious.

"Tell me more about yourself. Do you have any family?" Morty nodded, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.

"Yeah, I do. I have a mom, a sister, and my grandpa. They're… complicated, but they mean well." Kate listened intently, nodding in understanding.

"Family can be like that sometimes. It's nice to have people who care about you, even if they're not perfect." Morty smiled, feeling a warmth spread through him.

"Yeah, exactly. What about you? Do you have any siblings?" Kate's expression softened, a hint of nostalgia in her eyes.

"I have two younger sisters. They're back home with my parents. I miss them a lot." Morty could hear the longing in her voice, and he felt a pang of empathy.

"I'm sure they miss you too. Family is important." Kate nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"They are. They keep me grounded, you know?" Morty smiled back, feeling a connection forming between them.

"I get that. My family does the same for me." Their conversation turned to deeper topics, and Morty found himself opening up to Kate in a way he hadn't expected. She asked him about his beliefs, and he shared his views on faith and spirituality.

"So, Morty," Kate said, her voice gentle.

"Do you believe in God?"Morty hesitated, considering his answer carefully.

"I believe there's something out there, you know? Forces beyond our understanding. But I also think it's foolish to deny them or blindly trust them too deeply."

Of course he would believe it since he was brought by a powerful entity.  Kate nodded thoughtfully, seemingly unfazed by Morty's response.

"That's an interesting perspective. I respect that." Morty felt a surge of relief, grateful that Kate didn't judge him for his beliefs.

"Thanks. I'm glad you don't think I'm crazy." Kate smiled, reaching across the table to squeeze Morty's hand.

"Not at all, Morty. It's refreshing to meet someone who's open-minded." Kate then blush that she held his hand then Morty noticed a change in Kate's demeanor. Her shoulders slumped, and he could see tears welling up in her eyes.

"Kate, are you okay?" Morty asked, his voice filled with concern as he reached out to gently touch her hand. Kate shook her head, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I-I don't know, Morty. I just… I can't shake this feeling of dread." Morty's heart ached as he watched Kate struggle with her emotions. He knew there was more to her distress than she was letting on.

"What do you mean, Kate? You can talk to me." Kate took a shaky breath, her tears starting to spill over.

"I just… I feel like something horrible is going to happen, Morty. Like… like if you hadn't been there tonight… I don't know what would've happened."

Morty's heart clenched at Kate's words, his mind racing with concern. He reached out and gently pulled her into a comforting embrace, holding her close as she sobbed quietly against his chest.

"It's okay, Kate," Morty whispered, his voice soft and soothing.

"You're safe now. I won't let anything happen to you." Kate buried her face in Morty's shoulder, clinging to him as if he were her lifeline.

"Thank you, Morty," she whispered, her voice muffled by tears.

"Thank you for being there for me." Morty held Kate close, his own emotions swirling inside him. He didn't know what the future held, but in that moment, all that mattered was comforting Kate and being there for her in her time of need.
