Chapter 2 - Who’s That

2 Who's That

Hey, it's good you took me out today. I really needed the space," Zain talked as he looked down and held her hands.

"Yeah, no worries. I'm also bored preparing for our marriage," Jenner replied.

"How is that boring?" he asked.

"When we get married, I would make sure you are the happiest woman alive because I love you," he drew her close as he tried to kiss her, but she dodged and smiled. "We are close to the carnival, let's go."

"The lights there are beautiful, Zain, come on, let's go," she urged.

"Guards," he replied.

"Oh, sorry about that. Why aren't people celebrating much today? Why are they gathered there?" she asked.

"Like I know," Zain said sarcastically, still feeling bad he couldn't kiss her. Then he asked, "What if it all ends, Jenner? What if we don't get happy forever?"

"Why would you say that, Zain?" Jenner asked, concerned. "No reason, just wondered. Boy, you're crazy," she laughed back.

They moved to the crowd as Jenner got lost in the words of someone speaking to the crowd.

"Love everyone as you love yourself, my dear child. Know that you are deeply loved and that I, Christ, am your faithful friend and companion. I came to Ozan to show you the depth of God's love and to bring peace and healing to your heart. Let me into your life, and together" we can walk the path of righteousness and joy," his voice and his face caught her. She felt like he was talking directly to her. She paused as Zain snapped her out of imagination.

"Who is that?" Jenner asked a person in the carnival.

"That's Christ, and many people think he will be the next ruler of Ozan to bring peace and love to the world," she said.

Zain replied with jealousy in his eyes. "I am the next ruler of Ozan, not some Christ."

Hey, stop there! Gomora shouted from a distance.

The voice caught the attention of Christ as he looked at the people running. He noticed half the heart of Ohe on the neck of Zain like a pendant and said to everyone, "Shalom," as he disappeared from the crowd.

They kept running until they walked into an alley where they felt an ambush.

Gomora came out of the dark with other guards. "Stop, Zain, and return to the palace. We are ordered to use excessive force if you don't."

"I am not going anywhere," Zain declared.

"Stop running away from responsibilities," Gomora said with mixed feelings in his eyes.

Zain made the first attack on him with the Radnack fire head, but it was not sufficient enough because his last blow at the palace took his energy.

Gomora brought him to the ground with the first centurion bleeder. Jenner tried to do the ice Adonis but was attacked from the back by one of the guards.

Zain was furious and yelled, "Shiva split," but nothing happened except a little freckle of fire.

Everyone laughed at him, mocking his attempt.

He tried attacking again and got another beating from Gomora on the floor, bleeding as the blue bloods passed through his eyes. But scared of what his father would do, he was prepared to die when he saw a ray of hope.

Let there be light! Everywhere was shining. All the guards fell to the floor, and Gomora was unconscious. Christ appeared with a smile on his face.

He picked up Jenner, who was still lost in his eyes, and said, I am with you,

Then he went to Zain, but Zain refused his help and struggled to get up.

"Why did you help us?" Zain asked bluntly.

"I am Emmanuel, and I am always here to help. That's the only joy I have," said Christ.

"We didn't need you anyways," Zain retorted. "But thanks for your help anyways."

How did you learn these skills?, Only royals and warriors can have so much power, and you are a common man." Jenner asked, curious.

"I am gifted, let's say," replied Christ.

"So, will I see you again?" Jenner curiously asked.

"Yes, you will. I sit on the Mountain du every evening. You can meet me any time," Christ assured her.

"I hope not to see you ever again," Zain muttered, looking away in pain and anger.

"Your son is back, O Lord Zuma. He surrendered himself after destroying your guards," a servant spoke.

"You can go," Zuma waved his hand away.

"Lord child, Zain is here!" a servant hailed. The door opened with Zain in pain, holding his right hand with his left bleeding on his face. He walked slowly.

"You are really brave, and you showed bravery in battle today, so I will reduce your punishment. Do you know why Ozan has lived in peace with free will, with happiness all these years, even after 500 years of Ohe not protecting us?" Zain looked at his throne and the Mandela above him and whispered, "Don't care."

Zuma continued, "It's because we few sacrifice our happiness for billions, and us working for them make more people happy. This is why we follow rules, and breaking them brings consequences. You will participate in the Games of the Warlords as your punishment and train with Naka."

"I can't," he remembered and changed his words, "I mean, how can I fight against the warlords in their own games? I might get killed," Zain said, scared.

"You buzz leaves tomorrow early. Catch it and go and train with Naka. Do not disappoint me. All the leaders of Ozan will be there."

"He isn't fair," Zipporah whispered.

"Yeah, but I need to grow up and stand for myself. Everyone looks at me as a laughing stock. I bring shame to people by coming closer to them, and I can't even protect my own. I was always entitled but can't fight for my title. What if I lose it all? What if I can't stand the wrath of Yahweh when he comes to Ozan? I can't help that even my people laugh at my failure, and my only honor is tied to other people's success. What if I'm not good enough? Probably why Jenner never took me seriously because I'm not the right strong male she looks up to," Zain replied his head down.

"Don't be hard on yourself, Zain," Zipporah touched him softly.

Emotionless, he replied, "I am going to meet Naka and learn from him. How hard can it be?"
