"H-Huh?"
The imperial princess looked up, seeming momentarily confused by the empress's words.
A lady-in-waiting? Did she hear correctly?
"Your majesty wants this princess as a lady-in-waiting?" She probed to confirm the empress's words.
"Of course. Since you want to be a hostage of this empress, why don't you become a lady-in-waiting?" Rose suggested with a smile. She had never expected the imperial princess to go that far just to prove her innocence.
She was expecting some sort of rare treasures from the Mongol empire, not taking hostage of the imperial princess herself.
"You should sit down, princess." Rose offered the perplexed imperial princess a seat.
"Thank you, your majesty." The imperial princess's face lit up, and she inwardly sighed in relief as she straightened up from the curtsy.
