Taking another good look at every nook and cranny of the place, plus the two people around me, I paled from the devastation once again.
Fortunately, a maid had found me after she finished her daily chores when coming out of a nearby room. She kindly took a stray and almost unconscious me back to the bedroom.
Still, I couldn't stop replaying the various conversations and images prior to entering the bedroom.
The royal blue suits the men wore in the estate, along with their inked tattoos painted across their muscular bodies. Notably, the guns that are hidden somewhere on their backs. The physical features of everyone I've seen so far.
The names. The name of the original owner of the body I possessed. My brother's name. My father's title. Briefly, the family's last name I came to discover recently, Del Lobélia.
'KYAHHHH! PLEASE TELL ME I'M HALLUCINATING!!?'
I mentally screeched in horror as I clenched my tiny fists in panic while maintaining a calm façade—merely for the sake of my usual composed image.
Mainly, so I wouldn't cause worry or seem demented by the two maids, who were in the same room as me.
Taking a few deep breaths, I recollected my mental state and emotions as I summarized the plot of the story.
First of all, I transmigrated to my favorite R-18 romance novel. A bloody mafia romance to be precise.
[ Murderous Love ]
The novel wasn't simply based on a basic romance story. In fact, it was a storyline that contained the two genres of BL (Boys' Love) and a reverse-harem.
A BL story with an immense amount of great plot and action, along with plenty of mature scenes. Both violent and smut-related. The story had a lot of graphic content written and mentioned for readers to read nonstop. No joke.
'Ack! I'm about to have a heart attack at the mere idea of being in the flipping novel!'
The underrated novel revolved around the main character, Leonardo Heartley.
A protagonist with soft light-pink hair and stunning amethyst orbs for eyes. A feminine boy who contained a petite structure even after turning into an adult male. A man blessed with a gorgeous appearance that many women envied.
The cause of his tragic origin.
His woeful and miserable devastation was because of some crazy, obsessive, and lovesick mafia men. Handsome and pantie dripping bastards, if I may add.
The male-leads of the novel that had the readers on a darn chokehold for their hotness. Their hotness being their toxic behavior and sexy description in the story.
Just imagining them throughout the story made me a flustered teenage girl. The way they became possessive and ferocious (in many ways) with Leonardo because of their jealousy was beyond me.
How dominant and love-struck they were with our protagonist. Sexy mafia men that'd do anything for their lover. Even if it meant destroying the world as villains.
Any delusional and deprived woman like myself would want or could dream of having to fill in that loneliness of being single your entire life.
'Jeez... calm down, woman! This isn't a fantasy world filled with rainbows and daisies whatsoever!'
Unfortunately, the novel has become my new reality. A terrible world to live in. To survive in. Solely a world to read and fantasize about, but nothing more.
Only an immense lunatic and delusional person would truly wish to live that life, but not me. I was delusional, but not extremely delusional and crazy enough to think it was a healthy way of living.
'No ma'am. Not me. If anything, I'm running my ass off somewhere far away from these psycho bastards with my innocent Leonardo!'
ε=ε=┌( >_<)┘
Our protagonist, Leonardo Heartley, was a stereotypical damsel in distress. Growing up as a neglected child in a fallen mafia household. Bullied and abused as a child by his cousin's family—the Veilchenblau.
In other words, the Wisteria Mafia House. A mafia house controlling over the southwest region of Hallow City and Vapor City, serving under the Favio family.
In the story, there were five main mafia houses. Usually, each including a less powerful mafia house that served under them. However, not until the betrayal.
Now, there were merely two houses that had an alliance with a smaller mafia house because of treachery. An event that took place behind-the-scenes decades before the main story.
All taking place in Hallow City. Viewed as being one of the wealthiest and glamorous city in the world named Maven. Each city ruled by one of the five most powerful mafia organizations.
I'll explain how it works.
The world of Maven's cities are located and designed like a compass. For example:
Grunge City is ruled by the Bleu Rosén Mafia House, located in the north. Also known as the Del Lobélia family.
Retro City is ruled by the Éme Mafia House, located in the east. Also known as the Eden family.
Hallow City is ruled by the Red Eye Mafia House, located in the south. Also known as the Favio family.
Vapor City is ruled by the Burnin' Phoenix Mafia House, located in the west. Also known as the Phoenixes family.
Cyber City is ruled by the Black Mamba Mafia House, located in the center of all the cities. Also known as the Gazar family.
A world filled with tragedy and horrible violence. Ruled by sick bastards.
'Goodness gracious! I'm surrounded by legit psychopaths! Scratch that! More like murders and serial killers!'
Woefully, my situation wasn't so great either. Specifically, because I possessed the body of one of the villains of the novel.
Roselyn Bleubellé Del Lobélia.
A woman who's hated by the prominent threats of the novel. The male protagonists. The male-leads and love interests of Leonardo Heartley.
However, I wouldn't say the male-leads weren't villains themselves. They would literally murder and torture people simply for fun or if you were a threat to them, which was a rare thing to be.
After all, they each own a powerful underground organization. Nothing good ever comes out of something like that.
My only prayer was to make it out alive and try not to cease like in the original story. Or at least, I believed that would occur.
Substantially, Roselyn had yet to die horribly from where I left off on the storyline and there were no spoilers on whether she died later on. However, I could confirm Roselyn was literally asking for it.
Asking for the male-leads to get rid of her existence in the vile story. Waiting for them to shoot a dang bullet through her skull. Truthfully, she was a maniac.
'Okay, okay, okay. I can do this. How hard can it be to survive in this world with obsessive and corrupt men, right?'
(٥⁀▽⁀ )>
Who was I kidding?
No one has ever received any mercy from those guys. The mere fact Leonardo could befriend and enamor them when everyone around was deemed as solely untrustworthy and dead meat in their eyes was truly a miracle in itself.
More importantly, if it involved a certain individual. A character who was the most cruel, dangerous, and ruthless man in the story. The older blood-related brother of Roselyn and second male-lead of the novel, Raphael Del Lobélia.
A character description with night-sky hair and beautiful dark-blue orbs. Beholding seductive plum red tinted lips sitting across his handsome face with a beauty mark laying upon the left side of his sharp-shaped eyes. Exhibiting a masculine physique with pale and clear skin.
A heavenly man known throughout the underworld, yet harboring a devilish and wicked personality.
His handsome and charming appearance was merely a disguise to fool his enemies and everyone who underestimated him. A deceiving fiend of a man.
'Now, I'm this gorgeous scumbag's villain of a sister! Just my luck!'
"Young Miss, is everything alright?"
A young woman wearing a royal-blue maid uniform named Cherry questioned as she approached my figure with a raised eyebrow.
To my surprise, I didn't notice when I gripped on the sofa's velvet fabric out of distress, which clarified her concern.
"Ah.. y-yes! I'm simply feeling out the smoothness on this thing! Haha..!"
I fake laughed as I broke a sweat from the nerves. Shortly, I smiled at Cherry as she turned around and continued her chores with a curious facial expression.
'Crap... I need to be more careful.'
I came to realize I couldn't control myself from the frustration and anxiety, so I walked into the main bathroom to think about the situation inside there with no disturbances or problems.
Mainly, so I could think in peace and process my thoughts with tranquility.
Once I approached the bathroom, I closed the door behind me and immediately rushed toward the bathroom's full-body mirror. I only pulled onto the silky and long night-sky hair attached to my scalp.
'Think! Think, Amera! What happens in the story! The main points of it!'
As I zoned onto my facial features, the memories of the story began flowing into my brain with slight ease.
In the narrative, Roselyn Bleubellé Del Lobélia is regarded as a beautiful and flawless individual since her childhood. Avowed as the near replica of her deceased mother—except in a different shade palette.
A character description with elegant beauty and grace. A beauty with night-sky hair and sharp dark-blue eyes. Accompanied by the same beauty mark under her left eye as Raphael with alluring reddish tinted heart-shaped lips and porcelain fair skin.
A nepotistic and heartless woman in the mobster world, known to have a shitty temperament and nicknamed as the Princess Of The Underworld.
You'd believe to feel pity for the girl and perhaps assume she was misjudged or mistreated by her only blood-relatives growing up, but in reality, she's simply a woman with a malicious nature.
Lamentably, Roselyn's only two family members loathe her.
They neglect and shun her because of her wrongful personality. Going against her father's orders and almost getting her older brother killed during a mission. Not just once, but on various occasions.
Raphael and André, their father, both find Roselyn to be a nuisance and a curse to the family. Viewing her as an unfortunate and regrettable member to be born into the household.
The opposite of what the woman that gave birth to her portrayed and showcased herself as before her passing.
The pitiful mother wishing every night for her unborn child to be the light and happiness of the two males she'd leave behind. The goodness of the evil world.
Unfortunately, the woman purely got the opposite outcome of her deepest wishes.
André Jahil Del Lobélia, the boss, gave up hope the minute he witnessed how poorly their second child treated the faithful people of the house. It was disgraceful and despicable.
An embarrassing and shameful behavior to act on as they're the ones that remained loyal to the family for many centuries. Something they take very seriously.
'Out of all things, I had to possess her!'
As for the rest of the characters, there are four hunky and stunning male-leads in the novel for Leonardo to greedily hand-pick from.
The 1st male-lead, Michael Favio. An only child and heir of the Red Eye Mafia House. A character description with blonde hair and ruby eyes. An intelligent and mature man.
The 2nd male-lead, Raphael Del Lobélia. The only son and heir to the Bleu Rosen Mafia House. A character description with night-sky hair and dark-blue eyes. A talented and selfish prick.
The 3rd male-lead, Raymond Phoenixes. The first son and heir to the Burnin' Phoenix Mafia House. A character description with crimson hair and green eyes. A proud and sadistic sicko.
The 4th male-lead, Lucerne Eden. An only child and heir to the Eden Mafia House. A character description with green hair and hazel eyes. A charming and prince-like individual.
Now, for the antagonists of the novel, there are two separate villain groups. A major villain group and a minor villain duo.
The minor villain duo being Roselyn Bleubellé Del Lobélia and Maximilian Veilchenblau—Leonardo's male cousin.
Maximilian Veilchenblau is a man that is known for being problematic and a huge flirt. Loving any gender and not discriminating against anyone he found attractive or worth spending his long nights with.
'Kyah! I can't forget how seductive he was in pursuing Michael. He was very...'
Immediately, I slapped myself on both cheeks and observed my expression.
I witnessed a flushed face caused by the embarrassment. The shame I felt at the various wild scenes I envisioned in the novel because of the wild imagination I possessed.
'Focus. Focus. I NEED TO FOCUS!'
Taking a deep breath as I closed my eyes shut, I meditated to calm the feral mind. Luckily, I thought clearly once more about the story and future as I did.
Alas, Maximilian would've been my second favorite if it weren't for him bullying Leonardo. Or for trying to kill him, for stealing Michael's love and attention from him.
'However, a kiss on the cheek wouldn't hurt if I were to meet him. I'd like to witness his flushed face when receiving affection.'
( ^ v^ ) <33
Anyway, Roselyn and Maximilian met in a mafia gathering. An event disguised as a grand ball that is held once in a blue moon for making new connections and potential alliances with other invited guests.
The event wasn't ever specific about where it's held at besides on the first floor of a huge lavish building. Known as the place for the wealthy, famous, and important figures.
In the novel, it was an unsaid law between all guests and parties invited to the grand event for no violence or confrontation to occur. Of course, along with prohibiting any sort of weapon.
Regardless, there's always high-security and surveillance to prevent an unwanted blood-bath between each mafia house.
That being said, after the event, Roselyn and Maximilian became allies in discrete, unaware of anyone or any members of their mafia.
Of course, not until months later, when they began their evil plans to destroy and ruin everyone, they found a threat to get their hands on what they wanted.
For instance, Maximilian wanted Michael's undying love and Leonardo's demolish. Though Roselyn's reason is unrevealed, but many readers assume two possible options.
One: she wants to takeover the Bleu Rosén and dethrone Raphael. Or two: she wants to possess and share Michael's affection with Maximilian.
The second option came about after the author revealed in the novel that Roselyn found Michael alluring. It occurred when Raphael confronted her if she had an infatuation with the handsome blonde. Her only response to him asking such a simple question was a vicious glare when she directed her gaze over to him.
Despite their bad blood as siblings, without an explanation or discussion uttered between themselves, they both knew Raphael wanted Roselyn to snatch Michael away from Leonardo, so he could solely possess his beloved.
'Shocking? I think not.'
Speaking of the infamous duo's alliance, eventually, they became suspects as the traitors of their mafia organization. Their various evil deeds in ruining the mafia's business and sabotaging the protagonists' relationships were the reason behind it.
Alas, they got away with their crimes and betrayal by running away.
Escaping the scene before Raphael's mental breakdown in killing anyone disrupting Leonardo's rise. Obliterating anyone who threatened to harm him while the two cowards remained hidden in the shadows for the meantime.
'Pff. How ironic.'
When I read Raphael's POV, I was legit, dumbfounded by his own promise in murdering or annihilating anyone that claimed to hurt Leonardo.
After all, he was the very person who had endangered him. The man who mostly ended up making Leonardo's life miserable and horrible later on.
I'm genuinely surprised the author didn't appoint Raphael as a main villain in the novel instead of a male-lead and a protagonist.
In any case, the leading villains of the story are the Hellions. Villains that rise slowly and precisely in the underworld with the help of their minor henchmen.
Their boss and founding members' identities are unknown. Nobody knows or has ever seen them before because those who caught a peak of their face were all murdered by them on the spot.
The only knowledge about them is that if you ever come across them, you'll die by their hands in the most inhumane way possible simply to be displayed as an art show for the rest to see.
The opposite of what the other organizations do, who preserve their state of affairs and business in a classy manner.
Concealing it in private and not to be exhibited by the public eye with normal citizens. Solely reserved and intended for their enemies to be warned about their menacing existence.
Of course, as a reader myself, I know how to identify the founding members with a minor clue the author left us prior to almost getting introduced to the characters in the new upcoming volume.
You'd be able to recognize them by the trademark teardrop tattoo displayed openly and proudly on their face. A signature look only they possess and no one else, unlike their fiendish organization.
A scheme purposely planned so they could remain hidden and fool their enemies into thinking the scorpion ink design on their minions' bodies is the real deal to their representation and identification.
Honestly, a smart play of chess on their part of the end. However...
'LYING JERK! WE AGREED I'D BE SURROUNDED BY HANDSOME, LOVING MEN IN MY NEXT LIFE!! NOT THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF THAT!!!'
\( * >~<)/
I mentally screeched with pure horror and resentment toward the bewitching celestial. The jerk who transmigrated me here.
I couldn't believe and refused to accept the fact that I awoke in my favorite deadly BL novel. The story I caught up reading a day before I died. It was impossible.
I purely read such shenanigans in books and comics. A full-time job or hobby for authors to become creative with their fictional worlds and stories. A place for readers to fantasize and entertain themselves with. Nothing more.
There's only one explanation for this.
A particular individual being the blame for all of this to occur without my sheer knowledge and understanding of it. Perceiving me as an utter fool to trick, which succeeded in their unknown goal and favor.
'That conniving bastard! I'm cursing you for as long as I can live! Another chance at life, my ass! How am I supposed to be loved romantically by them if they're all technically gay?!?'
I couldn't help myself from slamming my hands on the white marble sink and tear up at the unfortunate circumstances. I felt frustrated and sorry for myself.
In this lifetime, I purely wanted to be loved and pampered. Experience a romantic relationship for the first time in my 20 years of life. Facing rare hardships and challenges. Now everything's gone downhill.
Knock! Knock!
In a flash, I turned my head toward the bathroom door at the sound of a few anxious knocks coming from the other side of it. Luckily, I gulped down the shriek that I almost let out.
Seconds after, I heard a loud and worried voice belonging to the second maid in the room named Mina.
"Young Miss! Are you alright? I heard a loud sound coming from inside the bathroom! Is everything okay?"
Mina asked as she fumbled with the door-nob of the bathroom's door.
Immediately, I checked myself in the mirror to look at my appearance. I had to make sure I looked presentable in case I needed to open the door.
"Y-Yes! I'm fine! I.. I merely killed a spider! Yes, a huge and ugly spider! Everything is fine, Mina! No need to worry..!"
I yelled over the door, hoping she'd fall for it and would leave to continue her never ending chores.
"That's a relief, but... Young Miss?"
"Yes, Mina?"
"The Jefe asked for your presence during tonight's dinner. He... he said that he wishes to speak to you about yourself and something regarding the family, Young Miss."
Mina advised through the bathroom door as she took a pause at her words and awaited my response.
'Shit! I'm not mentally prepared for this. I can't just go there and act like nothing's wrong. These bastards are crazy and a bunch of killers. I'd be walking in a lion's den. A bloody trap!'
I panicked, thinking of the worst thing that could happen during dinner. I was afraid they'd be able to tell I was an imposter. A fake member of the mafia household.
Even then, I knew it'd be hard for them to discover such an immense factor. The amnesia trope was enough to keep them from getting suspicious of the truth.
"Yes, thank you, Mina. I'll be there momentarily."
"Of course, Young Miss."
Mina replied, then her footsteps echoed at a far distance from the bathroom. Signifying her departure.
'Crap! What am I supposed to do now? If I go out there, I'm afraid there'll be a shootout or some kind of chaos. I'm getting paranoid at the pure thought of it.'
Still, I couldn't help myself from feeling horrified by the fact I'd be dining with notorious and dangerous people. This wasn't a situation I should take as a joke.
My life was at stake, being with them or without them outside of their territory. All because I was associated with the family, whether if I didn't want to be a part of it.
"It's okay, just fake it till you make it. It's only dinner and after this, I'm figuring out an escape plan."
I murmured quiet enough for only my ears to hear. I subconsciously bit on my lower lip and rubbed my arms for comfort.
'Okay! Screw it!'
Then, out of nowhere, I gained an unspeakable amount of confidence and courage to walk out of the bathroom after pretending to flush the toilet and wash my hands for tonight's dinner.
As I opened the bathroom door and came out of it, I saw Mina standing beside the pink luxurious king-sized mattress and spoke with a nervous gaze.
"Y-Young Miss, I have your outfit ready for tonight's dinner. I-I hope it's to your l-liking.."
She said as she fiddled with her hands and maintained her gaze toward her feet.
'Noo! Don't tell me she's scared of me already?? I just met the woman!'
I mentally screeched, but remained calm and collected on the outside.
Alas, it didn't take long for me to realize that Roselyn most certainly had a bad reputation before I could even try to prevent such an awful outcome. I only stood there and observed Mina's anxious behavior.
It was now clear to me when I recalled our interaction from the moment she entered the bedroom. The way her eyes trembled when meeting my own. Her fidgeting body language and quick avoidance.
Then again, Raphael's apparent glaring eyes and obvious lack of respect toward innocent and vulnerable me were easy for anyone to understand that Roselyn had already made an adverse image for herself.
However, I would not give up so easily to befriend and sustain a good reputation for the original Roselyn's unlikable image. Not at least until I ran away from the place. Far and far away from the dramatic plot of the story.
'I can do this! How hard can it be, right?'
