Our main character and a group of other people followed Derek and a few others to gather information. the person leading them was Derek and four others. unlike Derek who was dressed in pants and a jacket. The other boy on the team was dressed as if he were going to a dance, wearing a disco shirt and trousers, with a sword strapped to his back.
The three girls on the team were dressed in identical outfits, each wearing trousers, a t-shirt, gloves, and a hat. Upon closer inspection, they appeared to be identical triplets, with the only discernible differences being their hair colors. One had black hair, another had brown hair, and the third had a mixture of brown and black hair. they each had a dagger, spear, and sword respectively.
However, he found some of their behavior odd, like how they were always on guard or silent as if hiding from something or trying to avoid confrontation at all costs. they had also managed to convince everyone to be quiet. This, however, did not deter our protagonist from his quest to seek information, and he did not feel like engaging with anyone in the meantime.
During the silence, he attempted to dive deep into his memories, but they remained as blank as a new sheet of paper. He exerted himself so much that he developed a headache and decided to quit, as he didn't want to suffer from a concussion or any other injury.
shifting his attention from himself, he decided to take a look at the other seven people in the group of the protected. None of them, except him, appeared confident and certain. Their behavior resembled that of a puppet, without any control over their actions and just following instructions. The protagonist felt out of place among them because he was the only one with a clear goal in mind, and he found their behavior strange.
"Or maybe I'm the weird one here... Meh."
He shrugged at his unusual circumstance and surveyed the labyrinthine hallway. The walls were covered with pulsating dark red vines. All around him, constant growls and snarls echo, adding to the horror vibe. suddenly out of nowhere, a tentacle seized a member and dragged him further into the hallway. before another one could do the same to another person, Derek and his 4 companions then jumped into action with Derek bringing out a dagger from beneath his jacket and slicing off the tentacle trying to creep up and grab the second person. the remaining 4 then tried to follow after the tentacle only to be blocked and made to retreat by more tentacles.
Despite occurring in under 5 seconds and with a quick reaction, it was not enough to save the first person. This was a significant blow to everyone's morale and increased the fear of those being protected. The voice was filled with screams and wails, and then it went silent, leaving everyone listening feeling deeply troubled and in fear.
the now 7 people were then circled by Derek and his companions as, around the corner, a monster out of anyone's nightmare exposed itself. The appearance of the monster instilled doubt in everyone's heart, leaving them uncertain of their survival the next day.
"what the hell is that?"
