Time passed quickly, and soon the day of the selections arrived. Nothing worth mentioning happened during the previous days. After dealing with his rebellious well, Clifford found the Iron Monarch and ensured his progress was acceptable. Occasionally, he went on a couple of hunts to kill time and collected corpses until the day arrived.
Everyone was allowed entry to the place where the tournament would take place because it was also the venue for the selections. The arena was large and spacious, surpassing the ones in the building. It was designed this way to allow the participants to go all out.
The spectators' seats surrounding the arena were arranged in a circular, stair-like formation. Between both sides was a straight set of stairs with two thrones placed at the top. "Probably the emperor's throne and his wife's," Clifford thought, witnessing the two relatively large, fancy thrones placed high above the stairs.
