"I probably won't catch up if I keep digging this way," Clifford muttered, watching the life force burrow into the ground once more. He had an idea to speed things up. "Let's get this over with." Infusing his raw Qi into his right hand, he clenched it into a fist and struck the ground like a hammer, creating a large tunnel leading to another path below. Clifford jumped down the hole he created, passing by the slow-moving life force and waiting for it where he landed.
"It seems that whatever is controlling this life force is just below. Maybe that's why it no longer changes direction." Assuming the life force would continue downward, Clifford punched the ground once more, creating another large tunnel and jumping through it. "Whatever is down there should be aware of my existence after all this ruckus. I'm sure I shook the place a couple of times, enough to count me as a threat."
