Chapter 36 - 36: Villainous Parents' Misadventures III

[ Jay Jue, ... She ran away from home after accidentally killing her father with her superpower. She was found by Lady Red soon after Jay Romanov was rescued. ]

__________

Jay Pleng threw a butter knife into her pancake from across the room. The poor stack of three pancakes didn't stand a chance, and it toppled over on to the tray. Now, she felt bad for it, it didn't deserve her anger, so she grumpily stacked the pancakes back up before sitting down on the hospital bed and started eating the food given.

She could feel where the asshole who took her knife is. As long as he has the knife with him, she could tell where he is.

He left his tracker chip at the laboratory ruins, but he gained a new kind of tracker. Jay Pleng put her heart and soul into that knife, and she wanted him to use it to end her life. She spent an entire night forging the knife from an alloy of chromium, nickel and cobalt. Unlike her other projects where she didn't invest too much time one, she couldn't feel where those projects are.

But that one alloy knife? She could pin point where it is on the map right now. However, she won't snitch on the other Jay Pleng. She told him to go live his life and see giraffes, after all.

Her dinner was more filling than it should be, and she was glad that her father let her have pancakes so that she didn't have to eat bland hospital food. He didn't comply to her request for reading material, thought.

As soon as she finished her pancakes, the door to her sterile hospital room was opened without her permission.

Dr. Jue was wearing his usual lab coat, so it made him almost indistinguishable from the doctors that checked up on Jay Pleng every hour or so. His blue eyes were cool as he looked at his own daughter.

"We're leaving in an hour." He informed her. It's one in the morning, and he wants to leave in an hour?

Before she could come up with a response, the door creaked open again. A taller man with board shoulders wearing a black suit and a red tie walked inside like he owned the place. He probably does, honestly.

"Young lady, your daddy told me you're no longer a girl. You're a woman." A predatory grin stretched Mr. Romanov's face. "You have your father's power, your mother's beautiful face and a healthy womb. What a shame you came across my runt of the litter. Quite a trouble maker, isn't he?"

The young scientist bit down on her lower lip to avoid saying anything impulsive. Her action only encouraged the huge man to talk even more.

"He went through the trouble of protecting you from the mess he made. I was surprised you survived with minor injuries." The man laughed at his own words like he's the world's best comedian.

The only injuries that Jay Pleng had from that entire ordeal was a small cut on her leg from the windshield bursting and a giant hand-shaped bruise on her forearm from the war machine's hand. She wished to die by his hand, not getting imprints of it on her body. And now his father is making fun of her in front of her father.

"Anyways, my runt of the litter is back home, safe and sound." Mr. Romanov clapped his hands together, and his red eyes shined. "He's an official Wonder Soldier now, all thanks to your inability to do your job. Truly a match made in heaven. So... When the war is over, you're a good place for my son to start another generation of Wonder Soldiers."

Once his speech was done, Mr. Romanov walked out the door as if his business was done. Dr. Jue, her own father, gave her a look of disappointment. Then, he gestured for some workers to take away her tray of food.

Her fingers dug into the mattress, gripping down on the soft material as more anger bubbled inside of her. This fucking ridiculous war machine maker came into her space, insulted her in the most misogynistic way possible, match made her with his "runt of the litter" son, and left. What a fucking asshole.

The worst part is her father agreed to all of this. He agreed to give her away like she's cattle for breeding. She shouldn't have told the nurse that she's been getting her menstrual period regularly.

As usual, she kept her head down and nodded. The night went on uneventfully until she's inside her father's private jet. After take off, her eyes moved to the map of the continent on the table.

Mr. Romanov's mansion was circled in red, any other places were annotated with a blue ink pen. Her father's piloting the jet, so Jay Pleng was bold enough to touch the map.

Taking in a deep breath, she channelled her energy into locating her stolen knife.

Her index finger moved from the ruins of the laboratory into the red circle of Mr. Romanov's mansion.

She wanted to scream, she wanted to cry, she felt so much emotions running through her head, but on the outside, she kept her composure and returned to her seat.

Mr. Romanov didn't lie that his son was back at home. He put the war machine in the laboratory in the first place, so why is the other Jay Pleng running back to his father's den? Revenge? That's stupid because he's clearly out numbered from the sheer amount of sons that Mr. Romanov has under his thumb.

If only she could divert this jet to crash into Mr. Romanov's mansion and kill all of them in the process.

"What's on your mind, Jay Pleng?" Her father's voice snapped her out of her head, and she innocently looked up at him. It's not unusual for her father to put the plane into autopilot.

"Nothing important, father."

The older scientist nodded as he sat down in his designated chair. "You're at the age where you're thinking about a boy. I wouldn't be surprised if you're excited to be married. Women are family oriented, so you're not meant to work with me for long."

No, she's not thinking about a boy, but she's thinking about homicide of that boy and herself with both of their fathers, so technically she's still thinking about a boy.

Jay Pleng kept her head down, and she took one of the pens from her father's pencil case to play with. She can potentially turn this into a knife...

"What are you doing?" Her father noticed the pen in her hand, so he scolded her without even taking his eyes off the book he's reading. "The doctor told you to rest, Jay. Put that pen down. Don't give me an attitude, young lady."

Fine, fine, fine... She will give him some attitude. What does she has to lose?

Jay Pleng threw the pen at her father's face with much more force that she intended, her powers infused into the pen, making it a projectile. It would be so convenient if the pen just when through her father's eye and into his brain —

Before she knew it, her father was screaming on the floor, snapping her out of her anger. His slender fingers tried to pull the pen out of his bleeding eye, and Jay Pleng was frozen in her seat.

What has she done?

Isn't what she has always wanted? For her father to suffer? Didn't she just think about how she could change the plane's course and crash it into Mr. Romanov's mansion?

Instead of helping her father, Jay Pleng's blue eyes glowed whiter, and she pushed the pen deeper into his skull. Using her power this far is difficult, but her life would be more difficult if her father keeps controlling her.

Since it was an unexpected attack on his part, Dr. Jue tried to use his powers to pull out the pen in his skull. His daughter gritted her teeth before she kicked him to the he floor, breaking his concentration. Her eyes glowed once more as she pushes the pen deeper.

Once Dr. Jue's voice was silenced, Jay Pleng made her way to the cockpit. She didn't understand the various controls, but she could input a new destination on the dashboard.

Crashing the plane into Mr. Romanov's mansion would mean that she'll die before she could insure that Mr. Romanov will die, so she'll have to land the plane, set it on fire and pretend that it's an accident, meet Mr. Romanov, kill Mr. Romanov, find the other Jay Pleng, get her beloved knife back and kill herself. Killing the war machine is optional since he's as much of a victim as she is.

___________

[ Jay Romanov, ... Little was known about how he grew up, but Lady Red rescued him after he murdered his entire immediate family during the start of the Superpower War three years ago. ]

__________

Jay Pleng was playing with the knife. Where the hell did the little scientist get this knife? The design was not only unique, but it was the hardest thing he had ever had. It could cut through galvanized steel, and he was in awe.

He was inside his father's mansion once again, and according to the digital clock hanging on the wall, it's 2am. The boy had sent a message to the Lady Blue, the leader of the Villains, so they will arrive soon. He didn't know who or why the gang was named Villains because they claimed to be freedom fighters.

In the meantime, he's cutting off the wires that connected his siblings' tubes to the mansion's utilities. The little scientist's knife was doing wonders, and Jay Pleng was so glad that he stole it. He made sure to manually lock the tubes from the outside before cutting off the supplies, so his brothers could drown slowly in their sleep when the oxygen in their respective tubes runs out. Every one of his brothers deserved to die except Eugene, whose power lines were still connected to the utilities, and he's sleeping soundly in his room.

Sneaking out of his oldest brother's room was rather uneventful. The training his teachers drilled into him was paying off handsomely. It wasn't hard to get pass the mansion's security when his father wasn't home. All he had to do was told the guards that he's back, and they congratulated him for some reason before the butlers fed him and dressed him up in his best black suit and tie. He took off the black tie because it was rather restricting, and he unbuttoned the first two buttons on his red silk shirt to let his collarbones free.

After gearing up in his own room, Jay Pleng made his way to his father's office. The old man had a habit of coming to his office even after a tiring day out.

Sitting on his father's desk chair, he felt powerful. He felt like he was meant to he something, to be someone important, instead of being the son of a war monger who's obsessed with shaping his sons into weapons.

Yesterday, after escaping the laboratory, he learned that his own superpower is exhausting to use. His head spun as soon as he got into the safety of the woods, where he could rest. While he rested, he had the chance to explore his own powers a bit more.

The numbers were the probability of something happening. For the example, when he looked at a leaf on a tree and thought about it falling, he saw 0/1, meaning either the leaf falls or it doesn't. Back in his room, he had a set of dice from the board games he used to play when his mother was still around. A six sided dice would give the pair 1/6 if he wants a particular number. Turning it into 6/6 to get the result that he wanted took a while of playing around, but he finally managed to get the number that he wanted all the time.

Now that he's inside his father's office and sitting on his very comfortable chair, Jay Pleng threw a dice on the table. "Six."

The plastic dice rolled to a stop, and six dots were facing up. Jay Pleng picked up the dice again.

"Five."

Five dots were facing up when the dice dropped.

"Four."

Again, four dots were facing him. Familiar footsteps were heard coming down the hall. Ah, his dear father is finally here.

"Three." Jay Pleng rolled the dice again, getting the three dots. He picked it up after a second, and he threw it on the oak desk again.

"Two." The plastic dice didn't fail to give him the desired number.

Footsteps were getting very close to the door, and Jay Pleng looked at the dice in his hand before throwing it to the door. "One."

The double wooden doors were opened by two butlers, revealing his father in the middle, and the white plastic dice rolled to a stop in front of the man. A single dot was facing up at him.

A smirk came on the middle age man in a suit and red tie that matches his eyes. He didn't pick up his son's dice, instead he stepped on it, breaking the fragile plastic into a million pieces.

"Your mother would be proud of you. You don't need her in your life anymore. Look how much you've grown." His father walked towards him, smiling all the while. The old man knew that the maid who bore his son actually played with said son.

Jay Pleng slowly stood up from the chair, and took a gun out of its holder on his belt. He made sure that the glock was 33/33.

Pointing the gun at his father, the man responded with a laugh.

"No need to be hostile, Jay." His father walked towards him, and he put a hand on the boy's shoulder. Jay Pleng was still a head shorter than his father, but he wasn't faze. "You passed our test. From now on, you are officially Jay Romanov. I can't believe you saved Dr. Jue's daughter after you did her dirty!"

Jay Pleng clenched his jaw as he lowered his gun. No wonder the guards congratulated him when he returned. Putting his sons under scientists' knives and see how they escaped was a great way to determine his son's loyalty.

Instead of delving into the topic further, Jay Pleng thought of the little scientist. "How is she?"

"In the medical ward with Dr. Jue last I saw them." The old man still had humor in his voice. "She'll make a fine bride for you in five years, assuming you'll survive the war."

His father didn't even know how old his third youngest son was. In five years, it would still be illegal for Jay Pleng to marry anyone.

Instead of answering his father, the boy pulled the trigger, firing a round into his old man's knee since the gun was already facing downward. Mr. Romanov barely had the chance to react before another bullet pierced the skin under his head, cutting a hole in his tongue and getting into his skull.

No matter how powerful or invincible a person is, their head is always a vulnerable place. Even though the bullet didn't kill his father right away, it stunned him long enough for Jay Pleng to push him to the floor. Then, he fired two more rounds into his father's eyes.

A shriek from his father was enough to alert the butlers outside. One of them got into the room and began shooting at the boy while the other butler ran away to alert his siblings.

After one bullet hit his back, Jay Pleng turned around to look at the butler. Since he could see all the new bullets coming his way, his mind was quick to turn all the 1/1 to 0/1. The butler yelped in confusion when none of his shot hit the boy. It didn't take another second for Jay Pleng to get a bullet right in between the butler's eyebrow, putting him out of commission.

That one second away from his father was enough for the older man to tackle him to the floor and knocked the glock out of his hands.

"You ungrateful piece of shit!" His father roared as he slammed Jay Pleng's head into the carpet. The boy tired to roll away, only for the older man to kick him in his chest; he could hear his ribs cracking from the impact.

His back hit the desk behind him, making the young man groaned painfully. Slowly but surely, the bullet in his lower back, which came from the butler, was pushed out of his body by his regenerating flesh.

"What happened!?!" Eugene ran into the opened doors; his dark blonde hair and pajamas pants were still wet from the liquid in the tube. At least he had a gun with him. It took the fifth son another moment to realize what's going on, and he didn't see his brothers with him. "Where are the others?!"

Seeing the panic on his older brother's face, Jay Pleng felt a little guilty, but he didn't regret killing every single on of his other eleven brothers.

"Your little brother here thinks he can take me down." His father laughed. The older man's eyes were totally healed from the two bullets. "Oh, you naive child."

Mr. Romanov reached into his suit jacket to pull out a phone. He grinned as he showed Jay Pleng the phone. "How about I end your miserable existence, Jay? I raised you into a man, and you finally got the title Jay Romanov, so why are you being an idiot now? I thought we got over that phase."

Right after he finished his sentence, the old man clicked on a button on his screen.

Nothing happened.

At this point, Jay Pleng was just waiting for the Villains to come get him and healing his own wounds. He can't win a direct fight with his father, let alone his brother and his father.

Frustration was evident on the old man's face, and he clicked the button again, but nothing happen, so he clicked another button close by.

In less than a second, Eugene screamed in pain, and he fell to the floor, clenching the nape of his neck.

Oh, so the trackers double as an internal taser. Can it blow up?

0/1 popped up on his older brother's neck, but Jay Pleng snapped his head towards his father. Does Mr. Romanov has a tracker on him? Can he blow that up, too?

The answer was yes when he saw another 0/1.

Red lights suddenly flared through the ceiling lamps, alerting the mansion's inhabitants of intruders. Mr. Romanov was flung into the wall by an invisible force, and Jay Pleng let out a sigh of relief.

A woman with warm almond skin and long silky black hair walked into the room. Her red high heels clicked on the floor, matching the rhythm of her wide hips, covered by a knee-length scarlet wrap dress.

"Lady Red!" A woman wearing a biker's suit and helmet called out to the long haired woman. "Those darn heroes are here too!"

Jay Pleng finally stood from the ground, using the oak desk as support as he's trying to put his ribs back together. Meanwhile, his father was still held in mid air by Lady Red, who disabled the alarm by stepping on his father's tablet.

Then, something crashed into the woman, pinning her to the wall next to Mr. Romanov. The older man unceremoniously fell to the ground when the force holding him was attacked by the flying hero in gray.

The boy didn't waste a second pointing his left hand at his father, staring at the 0/1. His finger was shaking as he pushed all his energy into changing that 0 into 1.

Joshua, the levitating hero, paused his action of strangling Lady Red when the man on the ground a few feet below him simply exploded. His head shattered into red as soon as the chip inside his neck wrongly activated the self destruct function.

"That wasn't me!" Lady Red gasped from his hold on her neck as Mr. Romanov's headless body hit the floor.

"I know." The hero flung her across the room, and his blue eyes settled on Jay Pleng. "Aren't you supposed to be a Wonder Soldier?!"

The fact that Wonder Soldiers were made because the United Earth's previous leader demanded an army of indestructible war machines still made Jay Pleng sick to his core. Because of that reason, the newly formed United Superhero Council sometimes worked with his older brothers.

"He is!" Eugene was breathing heavily, and he's in a kneeling positions now instead of curling up in agony. "Spare him! He's a kid, he doesn't know what he's doing!"

The biker woman was already healing Lady Red by her touch, and the two villains gave each other a look when they heard more footsteps approaching the office.

A team of armed people already arrived at the scene, pointing their guns at everyone. These idiots must be the rest of the Wonder Soldiers in their area, so they must have their trackers on them. All Wonder Soldiers were related by blood one way or another, all of them were Jay Pleng's cousin, but only Mr. Romanov's branch of the family tree had any superpowers.

Jay Pleng gritted his teeth and closed his eyes as he pointed his left hand at the soldiers. The sounds of explosions rang from the back of group towards the front, and he heard incoherent and confused yelling from the only superhero that the USC sent that night.

Eugene dropped his gun so that he could generate a forcefield around the soldiers, but the damage had already been done.

"Retreat!" The cousin, whom Jay Pleng beat up a week ago and started this entire mess, began running away. He was picked up by Joshua, the flying superhero.

At this point, it was useless to retreat since the boy already turned the 0 into 1; he wouldn't let his cousin escape this easily.

Even though Joshua was zooming through the hallway, he had thrown the Wonder Soldier to the floor when the man's head sparkled with electricity and exploded.

Back inside Mr. Romanov's study, Lady Red was making her way towards Jay Pleng while the biker woman stood next to Eugene, who was still in shock of what happened.

"Eugene Romanov." The biker woman put her hand on the Wonder Soldier's shoulder. "Join us, and we'll let you live—"

"Never." He slapped her hand away, and he made his way his way out the room.

He looked back at his younger brother who's barely standing. Jay Pleng's legs were shaking, his eyes open wide as he's holding on to the wall for support. Lady Red was standing next to the boy, and her hand was on his forehead, checking his temperature.

"Take care of him." Eugene began walking away, and he's trying his best to not step on the headless corpses of his once family.

A bang echoed throughout the office when the biker woman shot a bullet through the young man's head, and his body dropped to the floor. Jay Pleng didn't yell, didn't cry either.

Eugene wasn't dead, and it's only an act because the bullet didn't even go through his skull. The younger brother kept his mouth shut as he leaned on Lady Red, who's holding him up.

"What's your name, kiddo?" Lady Red finally asked for his name. Usually, her gang called him the "son of that asshole King of Wonder Soldiers" which is a mouthful.

"Jay Pleng." The boy answered, his red eyes were still staring at the headless bodies of his father.

There's no going back now...

"Lady Red!" The biker woman pointed at something outside the window.

A medium size private jet was flying too close to the ground, and soon enough, it landed rather sloppily on the mansion's front garden.

"Let's go kill those bastards! They never stop coming!" The biker woman groaned, and her helmet turned to face Jay Pleng. "You're coming with us, kiddo."

Lady Red nodded her head, and her voice was laced with amusement. "You're one hell of a superpower, Jay. I'm glad you chose to be with us than those scumbags who thinks they deserve to rule the world."

Then, all their attention was grabbed by the white jet bursting into flames; its orange glow contrasting the night sky.

A single figure of a girl in a hospital gown stood in front of the flaming jet, and she took her time sitting down on the ground, watching the fire consuming everything.
