Chapter 4: Song for Luci and The Wanderer
"Delicious!" Luci really likes this! The little girl happily stroked her bulging stomach as she sits in her exclusive chair, smiling at her father.
There are some leftover noodles on her plate because she couldn't finish her dinner.
"Tomorrow, daddy will go shopping and prepare more delicious food for you!" Mika says with a smile and feels very satisfied in his heart.
When he was alone, he only cooked for himself and praised his own cooking, but now, with his daughter's praise, he feels a sense of accomplishment he has never felt in his life! His appetite increased and he finished the leftovers on Luci's plate.
...
Although Mika planned to take a walk with Luci tomorrow, how is he going to spend his time tonight?
Can he continue to sit across from Luci and stare at each other for the rest of the night? There is a playground near the apartment, but he doesn't want to take her there.
"Luci, Daddy will play you a song, okay?" says Mika as he dries Luci's hair with a towel. After bathing, Luci has become an obedient and peaceful child, letting her father comb her hair. The girl has inherited Diana's genes and already looks beautiful even as a little girl, with her long, straight hair....
Although she is only coming to play at her father's house for two days, her mother has packed a huge suitcase full of clothes. There are several sets of pajamas inside and Luci is now wearing cute pink pajamas with a bunny printed on them.
Mika returns with electric guitar in hand, with a doubt in his head.
What song can he sing to her? The previous Mika only knew how to kill people, don't even think about children's songs, he didn't even have a childhood! He has heard of some famous songs, but he didn't even care to listen to them! Therefore, Mika only listened to all kinds of rock, also a lot of heavy metal.
Mika took his time thinking... maybe he could make his daughter, love him more and love rock and metal. Thinking about this, he decided on a song, not so loud, but quieter.
Mika clears his throat and starts playing the unmistakable chords of "Té para Tres" by Soda Stereo on his guitar. The enveloping melody fills the room, creating an intimate and emotional atmosphere. With each note, Mika seems to be transported to a place full of memories and emotions.
His voice begins to softly intone the first lines of the song, while his fingers deftly follow the rhythm on the guitar. "Cups on the tablecloth," he sings, his voice resonating with a mixture of nostalgia and melancholy.
She continues with the next line, "La lluvia derramada," letting each word meld with the music, creating a thought-provoking mood. And then, he repeats, with a delicate and emotional pause, "Un poco de miel", as if sharing an intimate secret with his daughter.
Mika continues with palpable intensity, each word imbued with emotion and meaning. His chords become deeper, more poignant, as if he is expressing his soul through music.
"It's not enough," she sings with increasing intensity, conveying the sense of dissatisfaction and desire for more. "The eclipse was not partial," she continues, evoking poetic images that resonate in Luci's mind.
And then, the climax of the song comes with the lines, "I saw you crying, for him." Mika infuses these words with heartbreaking passion, conveying the pain and vulnerability of the situation, even though he was never in such a situation.
"Tea for three," she repeats, more and more fervently. "A sip of distraction, seeking to decipher us," she continues, capturing the constant search for understanding and connection amidst the chaos of life.
And finally, with a sense of resignation and acceptance, Mika concludes the song with the words: "There's nothing better than home... Tea for three". It is a moment of serenity and calm in the midst of the storm, where music becomes refuge and solace.
Despite her young age, Luci can feel the emotional intensity in her father's performance. Her eyes sparkle with admiration as she watches Mika play the guitar and sing with passion. Although she may not understand the exact words of the lyrics, she can grasp the emotion and love her father is conveying through the music.
For Luci, her father is a powerful and comforting figure. In that moment, you could see stars in her eyes, as she looks up at her father.
With a beaming smile, Luci reaches out to her father and embraces him tenderly, sharing her love and gratitude in a warm and comforting hug.
"Dad is great" Hearing those words, Mika, in his heart, felt an unexplainable feeling, which he had never felt, him being a murderer and probably a madman, and impulsive.
He was in his former world known as "The Wanderer", a nickname he had earned due to his erratic nature and propensity to act impulsively. For years, he had roamed the darker corners of society, carrying out acts of violence for money and leaving a trail of mayhem in his wake.
Now, however, under the innocent and loving gaze of his daughter Luci, Mika faces an uncomfortable truth: his past does not define who he really is. Although she may have committed heinous actions in the past, she also has the ability to change and grow as a person.
With Luci's love and inspiration, Mika realizes that he no longer wants to be known as "The Wanderer." He wants to be remembered as a good father, someone his daughter can trust and look up to.
--- Separate Note ---
What do you think? Let me know, what songs he may sing in the future, as a band and solos, albums, etc.
Also what do you think, do you want him to be just a loving father, or a loving father and in the world "El Errante"?
