Kael looked down at the cliff, "Is this even high enough?" He asked himself.
Kael reeked of rotten onions, and his clothes had stains of dirt, he had nowhere to live, his wealthy family had abandoned him, and he was the eldest son who could accomplish nothing.
'Worthless, useless, insignificant, hopeless, foolish, helpless and brat' These were the words that were stuck to Kael.
Humiliation and regret were all he had left. Kael's mind went blank, his eyes darkened and his voice was lost.
With no motivation to live, Kael jumped off the cliff, he closed his eyes, letting go of everything that had weighed him down.
He smiled one last time before hitting the ground.

As the fire continued to spread, the city's crisis worsened, the citizens fled in terror, and the magical knights tried all they could to put and end to it but it seemed the fire only increased.
Most of the citizens had died, their bodies laid on the ground like sack cloths getting stumped on by those who ran for their lives.
The demon--Khaos, had been awakened, it sought for souls all over Thorenheim, raining fire on every form of life.
The soldiers and magical knights were dropping like flies, "We can't stop it! It's growing even bigger!" a knight exclaimed.
Khaos' shadow had covered the kingdom like a total solar eclipse, and it's horn of fire continued to rain fire on them.
The Crystalhaven Academy highly ranked water mages could put no end to it and two of them died as a result but despite all their effort, the destruction continued.

Kael floated in the void, and every inch of him was hurting. He opened his eyes but it was dark and eriee, "What is this place?" He asked himself.
He heard distorted voices, the sound of swords clashing, and the screams of people. "No...no...why am I not dead?!" He yelled in frustration.
In an instant, everything stopped, it was silent, Kael breathed heavily and looked around.
He found large red eyes behind him and in a low raspy growl, a voice spoke, "Oh...you finally showed up! We cannot waste much time!" The demon said excitedly.
Kael froze, what was all of this, he'd just wanted to die, and now he was confronted by a demon?
"Waste much time? Why the hell am I here? What's all this?" Kael threw questions at the demon.
"Kael, isn't it? My power will soon be your to command, imagine having the power people could fear..." The demon summoned a vision of Kael's troubled past, memories that cut like a knife.
"The power people would submit to...look at that, being mistreated by your family" The face of the demon got closer to Kael's as he spoke.
The fury Kael had sealed within himself was unleashed, he placed his hand on his head like he was in pain, the hurtful words played like melody in his ears, whispers of statement that were made by the people when he was thrown out kept repeating themselves in his head.
"Kael" The demon called, "I, Vorgath will submit to you at any cost, just accept it, let's us become one and end this together".
Kael breathed in ragged gasps, "I accept, I'll make them pay! I will return the suffering!".
That was all Vorgath needed, the confirmation.
Without hesitation, Vorgath bonded with Kael's soul, forging an unholy union.
A bond that could never be broken.
