"Tell him that with or without the meeting, I will announce the dissolution of the engagement on all my social media accounts in two days."
Upon hearing the last sentence from Leah, everyone was delighted, especially Zed.
+++++
Everyone in the room was both shocked and happy at the same time after Leah's announcement. Among them was Zed, who was standing next to the door. Only Leah noticed his smile attempting to form. Because he was on duty and in the presence of Leah's parents and her assistant, he quickly wiped it off his face, making it seem like it had never been there.
Zhou Chun excused herself and called her team to make arrangements. Like Zed, who was assigned as the team lead for Leah's protection, overseeing everything from physical security guards to cybersecurity, Zhou Chun had long been assigned as Leah's internal and external team lead. She and a team of personal assistants handled tasks ranging from arranging Leah's schedule for the next week to months or years ahead to dealing with multiple departments inside the Liu Conglomerate and managing outside relations.
The original Liu Leah needed an external team lead to handle external affairs related to the Liu Conglomerate or closely related to the Liu family. Still, she was unable to find a suitable candidate. As a result, Zhou Chun has been temporarily acting as the external team lead since Liu Leah started actively handling family business deals and decisions. Ideally, Zhou Chun should always be by Liu Leah's side, but her additional responsibilities often pulled her away, leaving Liu Leah on her own much of the time.
There was no problem when the original Liu Leah was still present, but when the fake appeared, no one was there to stop her immature acts of bullying.
"Xiao Liya, I've meant to ask you, but what happened to your neck?" Liu Fang asked Leah out of the blue.
"Mom, stop calling me baby," Leah grumbled, mimicking the original Liu Leah's usual response.
Leaf's personality matches the original Liu Leah's by about ninety-five percent. After absorbing the original's memory and leftover soul essence, Leaf portrays a ninety-nine percent accurate Liu Leah. She may not care about the important people in the original's life as much as the real Liu Leah did, but she ensures they feel like they have their Liu Leah back. She will show them that a happy and carefree Liu Leah is alive and doing well. While using Liu Leah's body, Leaf becomes their beloved daughter, young Miss, Miss Leah, boss, and so forth.
The living left behind suffer from the void created by the dead at the end of the day. Sometimes, they overlook the minor changes their loved ones exhibit after a transmigrator occupies their body rather than believe that the originals are gone and replaced by another. They subconsciously convince themselves that their loved ones are not dead and that ghosts do not occupy their bodies. They would rather believe that their loved ones have just changed.
"What are you talking about? You will always be our baby," Liu Fang grumbled back at Leah.
"Do whatever you want." Leah raised a white flag and gave up immediately.
"So, what happened to your neck?" Liu Fang asked again. Leah thought she had diverted her mother's attention but underestimated Liu Fang's single-minded nature.
Hearing this, Zed felt elated, thinking about the mark he had left on his wife. After last night, Leah's advances towards him felt like an acceptance of his feelings. He started referring to Leah as his wife in his head.
"I just had an unknown allergic reaction to something. It was so itchy that I covered it to stop myself from scratching," Leaf answered calmly and matter-of-factly.
Liu Fang seemed to accept Leah's answer. She nodded and called the chef to prepare lunch, as she and Liu Aiden would stay until after lunch. They were both happy that their daughter was healthy and that Liu Leah was making the right decisions and taking proper actions for the first time in two months.
Everyone enjoyed lunch. Liu Fang even convinced Zed and Zhou Chun to join them at the table. There was laughter in the dining room whenever Liu Fang told a funny story about Liu Leah's childhood. Liu Aiden and Zhou Chun could not stop laughing because Liu Fang was such a good storyteller. Even Zed couldn't prevent a smile or two from escaping. Leah just let them have their fun.
…..
"Don't work too hard, and just tell us if you need help," Liu Aiden said after hugging his daughter goodbye.
"Hmm, I will," Leah said with a smile.
With a relieved expression, both parents left, waving goodbye to Leah as they departed. Leah remained outside with Zed on her right and Zhou Chun on her left. They all stood in front of the main door until Leah could no longer see the car, then entered the house after the front gates were closed.
The two quietly followed Leah into her study room. While in the hospital, Leah had meticulously outlined all plans she needed to undertake concerning her role in the Liu Conglomerate and Wang Haoran's company. These plans had all been approved by Liu Aiden.
In the study, she explained everything to Zhou Chun and securely sent her the files she had created to serve as Zhou Chun's guidelines. These guidelines were designed to open in layers based on the completion of the previous layer, with each subsequent layer requiring Leah's approval before unlocking. She had implemented this system to safeguard the Liu Family, as any leakage of these guidelines could have detrimental consequences.
Zhou Chun felt excitement and fear as she listened to Leah and received the guidelines. She understood that the guidelines in her hands could elevate the Liu Conglomerate to new heights, but she also knew that if they fell into the wrong hands, it could spell the downfall of the Lius.
Without anyone's knowledge, Leah added more advanced security features to the seemingly simple file, which were far more advanced for this world.
"Miss, the two broken doors in the hospital were already taken care of. May I know what happened?" Zhou Chun's unrelated question caught Leah and Zed off guard, but their faces and bodies remained impassive.
"You don't need to know," Leah replied without batting an eyelid.
Zhou Chun flinched at Leah's blunt response. "Yes, Miss. I'll be on my way now." Sensing that the meeting was over, she quickly excused herself.
"Hmmm," Leah replied nonchalantly.
Like the Liu couple, Leah and Zed walked Zhou Chun out and returned inside once the villa gates closed and automatically locked.
Leah took her new phone to organize her contacts, social media accounts, and other information. After ten minutes, she noticed that Zed was not next to her.
"That guy was usually sticky. Where did he go?" Leah asked, but nobody could answer her. She couldn't use her spiritual sense to check. Her current body was that of an average human with extraordinary strength but without spiritual powers. Even if she did possess them, the current world would reject her and might even fight her like a human body fights an infection.
This world has little to no spiritual energy to begin with. Cultivating it would only make Leah's current body healthy, and that's it.
Systems are exceptions in this regard. They can exist in a world where they should not exist. The downside is that they can only exist but cannot do anything other than act as a bridge between the world and the outside worlds, domains, and realms.
The other exception is if the world recognizes you as its owner. In other words, be the God of the world.
"Friday," Leah delegated all the tasks she could not or was not allowed to do to Friday.
"Master, Master Zed is in the kitchen," Friday replied without additional context from Leah.
Leah raised an eyebrow and questioned, "Master Zed?"
"Master, isn't Master Zed your chosen fated mate?" Friday asked bashfully.
