The next day, Kurabi and the others were discovered by a Konoha ninja from the Uchiha Police Force.
Danzo had pressured Uchiha Fugaku, the head of the Uchiha clan, by teaming up with the major clans of Konoha. This forced Fugaku to send members of the Uchiha Police Force to the battlefield against the Cloud Ninjas.
In order to continue the Uchiha clan's lineage, Fugaku had to sacrifice Uchiha Sogetsu. Although this wasn't openly discussed, the news leaked, causing some younger Uchiha members to harbor strong grievances against Fugaku.
While Fugaku's position as clan leader was not in danger, his reputation was affected.
In addition to the Uchiha Police Force, Konoha sent some Genin teams to form a temporary mixed unit.
The core group consisted of Jonin from the Uchiha Police Force, led by Uchiha Tetsuka, with six Chunin and one Genin from the Uchiha clan.
Their mission was to scout ahead to find the Cloud Ninjas' location or gather intelligence about the war.
"These guys are Cloud Ninjas."
The forehead protectors made it clear that these dead ninjas were from the Cloud Village.
"Strange, why did they die here?"
An Uchiha ninja looked puzzled. "They should have been a reconnaissance team. What happened to them?"
"Look at this!" The experienced Uchiha Tetsuka approached Kurabi's body, squatted down, and examined the wound. He frowned, saying, "What a brutal method. This guy's neck was bitten off, and he bled to death."
The wound on the neck was ragged, with irregular edges covered in messy tooth marks. It looked as though it had been torn apart by a wild beast.
The others looked at it and gasped in shock.
"Ugh—!"
They had witnessed many gruesome deaths before, but this was particularly horrifying.
They had never seen anyone's throat bitten off before.
This brutal scene shocked some of the Uchiha who had just graduated and were stepping into the battlefield for the first time.
"Ugh--!"
Suddenly, an unpleasant noise caught everyone's attention.
Uchiha Tetsuka looked coldly at the young man clutching a tree and vomiting, his goggles still on. "This is a battlefield. You need to get used to it quickly. The enemy won't spare you because you're feeling sick or uncomfortable."
"Yes, Lord Tetsuka!"
The boy with the goggles, pale-faced and struggling to keep his stomach in check, defended himself, "I was just nervous. I ate too many rice balls before we left."
"Save your excuses for the enemy."
Uchiha Tetsuka snorted, stood up slowly, and addressed everyone. "Remember, we're now in the Land of Hot Springs. Stay alert and don't let your guard down, understood?"
"Yes, Lord Tetsuka!"
The criticized boy hung his head in defeat.
The little girl next to him patted his spiky hair gently and said, "It's okay, Obito. I believe in you."
The boy with the goggles was Uchiha Obito. After being comforted by the girl, the gloom on his face lifted, and he cheered up. "You're right, Rin. With that annoying Kakashi not here, I'll definitely protect you!"
"Obito, here you go again."
Rin put her hands on her hips, her face slightly stern. "Don't say that. Kakashi is our teammate too."
"Oh, right, right."
Obito responded dismissively, thinking to himself, "Who considers that annoying Kakashi a teammate!"
"You two done chatting?"
Uchiha Tetsuka's eyebrows furrowed into a frown as he said coldly, "This is a battlefield, not a classroom. This isn't the time for talk about love. Be quiet!"
He glanced at Uchiha Obito, who seemed completely out of his depth. Tetsuka couldn't understand why Lord Fugaku had insisted on bringing these two with him. It felt like nothing but trouble.
"It's all your fault."
Rin blushed and mumbled to herself, too embarrassed to move.
Obito, however, was lost in his own world, completely ignoring the scolding. The mention of "talking about love" had him daydreaming about romance.
"How can there be such a fool in the Uchiha clan?" Tetsuka thought, his frustration evident. He wanted to kick Obito out, but Fugaku's orders kept him from doing so.
Tetsuka rubbed his forehead and said sternly, "Since the Cloud Ninja reconnaissance team is here, the main force of the Cloud Ninja must be close. We could be attacked at any moment. Do you understand, Obito?"
"I'm sorry, Lord Tetsuka," Obito said, snapping out of his fantasy as he realized the gravity of the situation. Despite his usual unreliability, he was a skilled ninja and knew how dangerous a battlefield could be. If he didn't focus, he could endanger both himself and Rin.
"Lord Tetsuka, I promise I won't let my guard down again!" Obito said earnestly, slapping his cheeks to wake himself up.
Tetsuka nodded, relieved. "Good. Even with your Sharingan, don't get complacent. It could cost you your life out here!"
After addressing his team, Tetsuka turned his attention back to the battlefield. "Hiroto, Kangen, you two go back immediately and inform Lord Fugaku of the situation. Tell him to hurry; the Cloud Ninja's main force is approaching the border!"
"Yes, Lord Tetsuka!" the two Chunin from the Uchiha Police Force replied.
Without hesitation, they set off, quickly retracing their steps. As they leaped into the air, the atmosphere seemed to crackle with tension, and the sharp sound of thunder and lightning suddenly shattered the silence.
Uchiha Tetsuka suddenly realized something, his face changing instantly as his pupils shrank: "Not good, come back quickly, Hiroto! Kangen!"
But his warning came too late!
Boom!
A brilliant blue lightning bolt arced through the air.
Then, a figure shot through the air at an almost invisible speed, coming with a terrifying momentum and noise.
"Lightning Straight——!!!"
The roaring thunder created powerful shockwaves.
In an instant, Hiroto and Kangen, unable to dodge in time, were struck hard by the figure.
In the horrified gaze of everyone, it was as if they had been hit by a speeding truck. With the sound of bones cracking, they were sent flying backward like kites with broken strings.
The two men crashed heavily into a tree trunk. When they were seen again, they were stuck to it like puddles of mud.
The lightning arc violently leaped and finally settled on the tall tree trunk.
A massive and powerful figure, his body enveloped in lightning, stood with short light golden hair standing up like steel needles, his rugged face and cold eyes staring down.
"Uchiha Uchiha. Uchiha."
He kept repeating "Uchiha," and then a fierce smile appeared on his face: "Good, what luck. I've been looking for you for a long time!"
Uchiha Tetsuka thought, I can't be this unlucky, can I?
He had just run into the person he least wanted to meet.
They were definitely in trouble now!
