Chapter 282 - Chapter 280 : Trip!!

These past few days, Chu Zihang had been mentally and physically exhausted after being grilled by the people in the Psychology Department.

After the incident in Brooklyn, New York, where he almost accidentally hurt his allies while being controlled by "George," he was immediately taken to the Psychology Department when he returned to Cassell College for a full checkup. They tested whether any hypnosis effects were still lingering.

After all, Chu Zihang had an "S-Class" rating and controlled the dangerous ability "King's Blaze" with the serial number 89. If he were to be hypnotized, the consequences could be catastrophic.

As for the Psychology Department's methods of examination, for someone like Chu Zihang, who was used to solitude and mental endurance, it was more like mental torture.

Every day, there were endless questions or never-ending psychological tests.

Finally, after receiving the "no traces of hypnosis" report, Chu Zihang did something quite rare—he quickly "escaped" the Psychology Department.

Breathing fresh air again, Chu Zihang felt a little lighter, and the tension in his face seemed to relax just a bit.

Back at the Lionheart Society, he found Susie handling the pile of paperwork. During the time he was away, all the work had been handed to his assistant.

Her delicate face looked visibly more exhausted, even with dark circles under her eyes. It was clear how busy things had been.

"You're finally back, President," Susie sighed as soon as she saw him, her long lashes wet with tears as she showed a pitiful expression, looking like she was about to cry.

"You've worked hard, Susie." Chu Zihang, aware of his own shortcomings, could only reply in his usual expressionless manner. He quietly walked over, wanting to take over her work.

"No need, President, and didn't you have to go on a 'business trip' soon?" Susie said, and it seemed like she remembered something. She blinked her beautiful eyes, looking at Chu Zihang, who appeared confused. She gave a small smile, almost mischievous. "President, you haven't heard about it yet, have you?"

"The people in the Psychology Department didn't tell me." Chu Zihang was rarely seen showing a hint of embarrassment.

"Oh~ They must have forgotten."

Susie almost couldn't hold back her laughter. She covered her mouth and, with a playful smile, said, "The principal told the Psychology Department five days ago to inform you after your treatment was done. You, Caesar, and Adam are supposed to go to the Tokyo branch in Japan to carry out a secret mission."

"..."

Chu Zihang felt this was all just absurd.

As the person involved, he was probably the last to know he was going to Japan.

"The forums are going crazy, all because of this trip to Tokyo." Susie crossed one leg over the other, her long, slender legs revealing smooth, fair skin. She stretched lazily and, taking a rare break, joined in on the gossip: "The president of the Lionheart Society is actually going on a mission with the president of the Student Union. It's so rare, it's almost unheard of."

It was hard to imagine that the two leaders of the school's top rival factions—the Student Union and the Lionheart Society—would team up to go on a mission to Japan together.

Such a surprising event naturally sparked a huge discussion in the forums. The debate even led to betting pools about which group would come out on top after the mission: the Lionheart Society or the Student Union. The current odds were slightly in favor of Chu Zihang.

"Adam?"

Chu Zihang furrowed his brow, clearly not understanding why the principal arranged it this way.

"Strange, right?" Susie also looked puzzled, arms crossed. She added, "Although he has a deep understanding of psychology and played a significant role in the last mission, I still don't get why they had to bring him along."

From her tone, it was clear she was a bit disappointed that she wasn't the third person chosen.

"When do we leave?" Chu Zihang asked.

"At 10 o'clock."

Susie glanced down at the watch on her fair wrist and said, "Respected president, you have half an hour to pack your things. Then, you'll fly to Chicago and transfer to the principal's private vehicle, Sleipnir, to head to Tokyo."

She paused for a moment, then looked up at Chu Zihang, who seemed totally speechless, and chuckled. "By the way, Caesar already left ahead of time~"

Great, he was the last to know.

And from the looks of it, if it weren't for the fact that it was almost time, the psychology department would probably still be holding him back.

Chu Zihang's eyelid twitched as he silently vowed never to visit the psychology department again.

Luckily, he didn't have much to pack.

After exchanging a few lighthearted words, Susie thoughtfully prepared his luggage in advance. This included clothes, personal items, and most importantly, his alchemy sword.

"Thanks."

A hint of gratitude showed on Chu Zihang's icy expression.

"No need to thank me, my President."

Susie smiled lightly, then looked at him with a gentle gaze and said softly, "Come back safely, President."

Chu Zihang didn't say anything more. He picked up his luggage, turned, and left.

At the school gate, he ran into Adam, who had been waiting for him. Adam wore a warm smile. "What a coincidence. I didn't expect it would be us again. So, this time I have to rely on you to protect me. After all, I'm just a psychologist and not good at fighting."

"Alright."

Chu Zihang paused, then added seriously, "This time, nothing will go wrong."

It was clear that the previous mission, where he had promised to protect someone but ended up almost accidentally injuring a teammate, still weighed heavily on him.

Adam's inclusion in this mission piqued the curiosity of others.

For example, Caesar couldn't understand why, out of so many people at the academy, they had chosen Adam—someone with almost no reputation, middle-tier grades, and seemingly an invisible, borderline outsider.

After seeing the mission roster, Caesar started investigating "Adam."

He had expected to find someone pretending to be weak but actually strong, but instead, he was disappointed. No matter how he looked at it, Adam seemed like an ordinary "Hybrid" and, compared to the historically prestigious Gattuso family or the Lionheart Society's President, Chu Zihang, he seemed somewhat out of place in this brilliant group.

Caesar Gattuso was the heir to Italy's famous dragon-slaying Gattuso family and the current president of the Student Union. He was proud and free-spirited, with natural leadership qualities, seeing Chu Zihang as his only true rival.

However, the sudden appearance of Adam, who seemed so out of place, irritated Caesar a little, especially since he had been looking forward to this mission in Japan.

But no matter how annoyed he was, he had to respect the principal's decision.

After arriving early in Sleipnir, Caesar immediately sat in the center of the leather sofa, in a position that seemed to suggest he was in charge. Holding a glass of whiskey with ice and puffing out smoke from his cigar, he acted like the owner of the place, completely relaxed as if on vacation.

When Chu Zihang and Adam boarded the plane, they immediately spotted Caesar.

His golden hair fell to his shoulders, and with a face that looked like a Greek sculpture, he was extremely handsome, explaining why he had so many fans at the academy. His physique was muscular but not bulky—just right. The sunlight streaming in from the window made his golden hair shine, and his piercing sea-blue eyes gleamed like those of a young lion, exuding a sense of arrogance and dominance.

"Caesar Gattuso, hello."

Caesar stood up, extending his right hand in a gesture of gentlemanly courtesy.

His tone was neither arrogant nor domineering, yet it carried the refined charm he had cultivated since childhood.

"Adam Angelwid, it is an honor to work alongside the president of the academy on this mission."

Adam smiled gently, reaching out his hand to shake Caesar's and spoke.

Caesar paused for a moment, deeply impressed by Adam's clear, pure eyes—almost innocent, like a newborn's.

Adam Angelwid... seems interesting.

Looks like this trip won't be as boring as I thought.
