"Hey, McKinley, are you okay now?"
Miss Minchin's voice snapped him back to reality.
"H-huh? What happened?"
"You don't remember?" she asked, studying him closely.
McKinley felt unusually light and clear-headed.
Then, a faint memory surfaced, showing him and the others ending up in Miss Minchin's office of their own will, though the scene felt hazy, almost as if his mind had conjured it.
Every time he tried to remember all the details, a strange, invisible wall seemed to block him from recalling anything more.
He glanced at Miss Minchin's smiling face, still confused about the reason they'd come to see her. Looking around, he saw the other three still fast asleep on the bed.
He vaguely remembered them all drifting off together while waiting for Miss Minchin to finish her class. But why did they look so sound asleep, as if exhausted from a battle?
