"Damn it! Are we close to the center of the forest you talked about, Chastine?" McKinley grumbled, swinging his sword at yet another small goblin that jumped at him from the bushes.
"Not yet," I replied, dodging a goblin's attack. "We're still in the dwarves' territory!"
McKinley cursed under his breath, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Damn it! Why haven't I seen a single dwarf around here? All we've been fighting are these annoying goblins and dealing with traps!"
"Exactly! Where are the dwarves? All we're seeing are goblins and traps blocking our way!" Anne said.
I looked around the thick, dark forest, the tall trees casting heavy shadows over us.
"Dwarves are very elusive creatures. They won't show themselves unless they want to. You could walk right past one and never know they were there."
