"These damn monsters keep coming! Where the heck are they coming from!?" Rune exclaimed as he attacked the human-sized gnomes assailing them.
"Watch out! Rune, there's a monster behind you!" shouted a student.
Rune immediately struck the monster with his sword made of dark smoke.
Sweat poured from Rune as he fought the monsters. Behind him were the students, who had made them their human shields against the monsters.
These students had been following them without doing anything to help because they were too scared to attack the monsters. As a result, their advance had slowed down because of their noise, as they did nothing but scream.
Rune gritted his teeth, frustration and exhaustion mingling in his mind.
'If only they could keep quiet for a moment,' he thought, slashing through another gnome.
