Chapter 4 - First day of Selection Test

"Is everyone getting impatient?!"

The beautiful woman, who was previously on the big screen and speaking from there, is now in the center stage of the gymnasium to address them live.

"Yes!" The crowd responds.

She notices that the gym is now filled to capacity due to the increasing number of students who came just to watch.

And her eyes have been drawn to the numerous strong students, whom she believes are part of the major clans, and not only that, even the minor clans seem to have developed talents, as she has seen many among them who could rival a few of the major clans.

"Ahem... before we continue, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Leael Wane Smith, your spokesperson for today." she said, bowing slightly to the crowd.

"Since everyone's buzzing with excitement, let me give you a clearer rundown of the selection process.

"We've extended the selection to three days this year due to the large number of students who passed the entrance exam. This surge shows just how strong our freshman class is. Naturally, there are plenty of curious onlookers eager to see which fresh faces will rise in the new power rankings. And honestly, I can't help but feel the same excitement myself, hahaha."

"As a response to this, the school committee has made several new adjustments, and we've divided the selection into three distinct categories. Each of these categories will be conducted on separate days."

"On this first day, which happens to be today, we will initiate what we call a 'power level measurement'.  During this phase, we will gauge the power levels of each freshman using our 'power level meter' graciously provided by our very own Principal. This assessment will be crucial in evaluating the unique abilities of each student."

"But of course, it doesn't end with the measurement of power alone because, as I mentioned earlier, the categories aren't limited to just one. There are two more categories left to assess physical strength and stamina levels, as well as the last category, 'strategic measurement,' where we will test each individual's depth of knowledge in intelligent combat."

"But before we dive into the two remaining categories happening tomorrow and the day after, let's focus on the first event, the 'power level measurement' taking place today."

"Our 'power level measurement' is divided into four results, and these four outcomes will determine which level a student's power falls into... They are represented by four distinct colors, each with its own significance: red, blue, white, and yellow."

"The red level represents the pinnacle of power, indicating that a student possesses an exceptionally high level of capability. It's the highest category we can assign, and it's a rare achievement, with only a select few ever reaching this level. To attain a red-level power, one must demonstrate extraordinary prowess that sets them apart from the rest. Achieving this status is a testament to the student's unparalleled potential and strength, making them an elite force within our school."

"Moving on to the blue level, it signifies a significantly high level of power, typically associated with the top 20 students. These individuals exhibit remarkable strength, placing them among the school's elite. A blue level indicates that a student is not just strong but excels in terms of power. It's a commendable achievement that sets them apart from the majority and establishes their position as formidable contenders."

"The white level represents an above-average power level. Students in this category possess substantial abilities that surpass the ordinary, though they might not reach the highest echelons of strength. Being in the white level signifies that a student is above average and is recognized for their potential and capabilities."

"As for the yellow level, it signifies an ordinary power level. However, it's crucial to understand that having a yellow level doesn't equate to weakness. Some students might have strengths in specific areas, such as power, but might lag in physical strength, stamina, or strategic planning. It's important to remember that power isn't the sole determinant of a student's overall potential. Yellow-level students might excel in different aspects that are equally valuable."

"Today's assessment aims to determine the level of your power. But remember that excelling in all aspects, including physical strength, stamina, and strategic planning, will truly solidify your status as a strong and deserving member of the elite class."

"As a result, we expect each and every freshman to make their way to this center stage for the testing phase. When your name is announced, you must promptly step up to this stage within the allotted five minutes. Failing to do so within the designated timeframe may result in the loss of an opportunity to retake Test 1 on this day. However, keep in mind that you still have opportunities for Tests 2 and 3...."

"Nonetheless, it's essential to temper your expectations since your scores for those tests may not reach the highest levels, even if you excel. So, I wish each of you the best of luck, and ensure that you're prepared to act promptly!" Leael declares with unbridled enthusiasm.

The three upcoming categories have my full attention. I can feel a mix of nerves and excitement building within me.

It's an interesting selection process, and I couldn't help but quietly tell myself that I'm confident I'll do well in all of them.

"Now, without further ado, we will start calling names for our first test. Please make sure you're ready and come to the center stage as soon as your name is called." Leael finishes with a lively tone.

Feeling the excitement in the air, Leael reaches into the lottery box, which holds the names of all the freshmen.

"To begin discovering the potential of our talented students, let's start with Ordix! Coming all the way from the well-known Water Clan!" Leael's voice echoes through the gym.

Ordix is called, and he gracefully steps onto the center stage, catching the attention of every eye in the gym.

As Ordix makes his descent from the center stage, a large screen materializes overhead, providing an up-close view for everyone present.

The anticipation in the gym is noticeable, with the crowd buzzing with curiosity.

Leael herself raises an intrigued eyebrow, sensing that Ordix has garnered attention not only from his Water Clan but from other clans as well.

"Hmmm, it appears that Ordix is a captivating and well-recognized figure in the crowd." she muses to herself, eager to witness his abilities.

In the next moment, the gym falls into hushed anticipation as Ordix places his hands on what appears to be a crystal sphere.

As the crystal undergoes a mesmerizing transformation from white to a gradual, radiant shade of blue, the crowd erupts in enthusiastic cheers once more.

"Remarkable! It seems that right at the start of our Test 1, we already have a student showing off their amazing power. This year promises to be an exhilarating journey for all, hahaha!" Leael's excitement is noticeable as she shares in the energy of the crowd.
