Paula never expected to see Ronald again, especially like this. After ghosting him three years ago, she thought their paths would never cross again.
His pointed nose and sharp eyes, the very features that had drawn her to him in the first place, now stood out even more as he stood before her. Those eyes reminded her of someone else, the same person she had thought of three years ago when she first met Ronald.
Now, she realized it hadn't been her imagination—Ronald truly resembled that person.
"Nice to see you again too," Paula smiled, extending her hand for a handshake. Ronald bypassed the handshake, pulling her into a brief, unexpected hug. He released her almost immediately, leaving Paula feeling both flustered and confused.
Martha, who had been standing nearby, glanced curiously at Paula. "We've met before," Paula quickly explained.
"Then I'll leave you two to talk. If you need anything, I'll be over there," Martha said before walking away.
