Paula stood in front of the house, her hands tucked into her pockets. The night air was cold, and the moon shone brightly in the sky.
She knew she would be back here eventually, but she didn't expect it to be this soon. A shiver ran down her spine as a breeze swept by.
"You should have told me you were coming."
Paula stiffened at the sound of the voice but forced a small smile as she turned around. "I didn't want to disturb you, so I called Isak."
Len walked toward her, his hands in his pockets, a neutral expression on his face. Paula had contacted Isak, informing him of her decision to retrieve something from their former house since she didn't have Len's number.
"I've already changed the password to the house. So, whenever you come, you must inform me first," Len said as he approached her, his voice steady but distant.
