After Xue Ye dropped Gong Heng off, Mu Mian felt somewhat dispirited. Xue Ye drove her around for a bit, but noticed she was not in high spirits.
He said lightly, "I'll take you back first so you can have a good rest."
"Okay."
By the time Xue Ye dropped her off, it was already nearing evening, and the two sat in the car without Mu Mian getting out.
Mu Mian suddenly asked, "Is he about to become the mayor?"
"Pretty much! The only candidate currently competing for mayor of B City is him, and barring any surprises, he will be the one. But even if there is a surprise, it will still be him."
Gong Heng now already had control over B City; having him become mayor was a good thing, not allowing him to be mayor would be bad.
