"If it were truly the Crown Prince of the Gu Family, Mo Qiansu, you would have already been kept and doted on in his luxurious mansion by now. How could you possibly end up being toyed with by me?"
"..."
Every word from Wei Tianhai pierced Mo Qiansu's most painful spots.
He wasn't wrong—if Gu Xuanye had her in his heart even the slightest, he wouldn't have so thoroughly and resolutely disappeared from her life in these four years.
Therefore, when Mo Qiansu brought up Gu Xuanye to intimidate him, her words lacked any real confidence.
"My great beauty, stop your futile struggles. Just give in to me obediently, and I'll take good care of you, as well as your little bastard!"
The beauty of Mo Qiansu's face, tempting enough to drive one to commit sins, had long made Wei Tianhai yearn to conquer her.
"Get lost, get the hell away from me!"
"Don't touch me!!"
Mo Qiansu, emotionally agitated, resisted Wei Tianhai's renewed approach.
Suddenly, she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye and her eyes widened in terror, "Xiaoyu, no, it's dangerous!!"
Mo Qiansu's warning came too late.
The Little Demon King clenched a shard of glass tightly in his little hand and, with all his might, thrust it toward Wei Tianhai.
Wei Tianhai only felt a pain in his buttocks before he sprang up abruptly.
Upon touching, his hand came away covered in blood.
Glancing aside, he saw the Little Demon King, his eyes bloodshot, holding the blood-drenched piece of glass, his whole body radiating a murderous aura, poised to stab at him again.
"You little bastard, you're courting death!!!"
Raging furiously, as Wei Tianhai lifted his foot to kick the Little Demon King, Mo Qiansu threw herself over the child at the first opportunity, shielding him beneath her.
Although the kick didn't hit Mo Qiansu directly, the glancing blow off her arm was still painfully biting.
Mo Qiansu didn't care about herself and scrambled up.
When she saw her son's hands covered in blood, her heart trembled, "Xiaoyu, let go of your hand quickly!"
The glass shards were sharp enough to cut with a mere touch, and even more so now as he clenched them tightly without letting go.
"Xiaoyu, listen to Mommy, throw it away quickly!"
The Little Demon King's pink lips were pressed into a thin line, silent. It was as if he didn't feel the pain in his hand at all, holding his small fist tightly clenched. His little chest heaved with excessive emotion, and those beautiful starry eyes, filled with unshared enmity, watched Wei Tianhai's every move intently.
He was like a little beast prepared for battle, guarding its food.
Mo Qiansu had never seen this side of her son. Even when he had been mischievous, his antics were still filled with childlike innocence—not like now, his young face maturely etched with hatred. A hatred so deep it seemed murderous.
...
"A bunch of trash, can't even watch a kid!" Wei Tianhai, holding his continuously bleeding buttock, roared at his subordinates.
"Boss Wei, we're sorry!" His men could never have imagined that a mischievous child would dare to inflict harm.
"You little bastard, today you'll learn the consequences of disobedience!" Wei Tianhai, in a brutal bout of rage, seized the Little Demon King's neck and lifted him into the air, his fingertips tightening fiercely.
To be injured and to have his mood destroyed made his teeth itch with fury.
"Wei Tianhai, let go of my son!!" Mo Qiansu, restrained by his men, was going mad with desperation and struggled fiercely.
The Little Demon King's fair little face was squeezed red, but he did not show the slightest fear. He kicked his legs and swung the glass shard he still held in his hand, "You hurt my Mommy, I'll kill you!!"
The fresh red blood, trickling down those pale little hands, made Mo Qiansu's heart bleed.
Wei Tianhai was brutal and merciless, seeming as though he could choke the life out of the child in the next second. Fearing for her son, Mo Qiansu could only plead in surrender, "Mr. Wei, if you let go of my son, I will agree to anything you say!"
Her son was her bottom line, the one thing she was willing to protect with her life.
