"Is Mianmian at the store? I need to talk to her."
Having finally found the person she was looking for, Madam Liu felt more at ease. She rarely came to the city, and felt lost in the unfamiliar surroundings. Her heart felt unsettled as she wandered, but luckily this place was not hard to find.
"Mianmian went out to buy food; she'll be back soon. Did something happen?" Xiaocui asked with some concern.
"Lanfang knows about Mianmian going to Third Middle School now, I came to deliver the news."
"Ah?" Xiaocui's face changed with anxiety, "Mom, you didn't let it slip, did you?"
Mianmian had been so good to their family; if her mother had let the news out, she didn't know how she would face Mianmian.
"When have I ever been a gossip? I know what should and shouldn't be said," thought Madam Liu. It was a relief that she came. Even her own daughter suspected her of revealing it, let alone anyone else.
