No sooner had the director's voice faded than Qin Jian pushed the door open and entered.

Two bars and two stars signified the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, likely a deputy position within the regiment.
"I'd like to discuss the internship performance of Ruan Fangfang." As he spoke, Qin Jian's gaze inadvertently fell upon the documents on the director's desk, which happened to be about Ruan Fangfang.
He scanned it briefly, noting that the assessment of Ruan Fangfang wasn't very high.
