"Are you willing to settle?" The policeman inquired, his gaze fixed intently on Dawn.
"Yes," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she cleared her throat. Slowly, she turned to Eisley, who sat beside her, a storm of emotions flickering across her face.
"Are you sure? You are badly injured." The officer's concern was genuine, but Dawn's attention drifted to Magnus, her eyes meeting his briefly before she nodded, her gaze falling to the floor.
Thirty minutes earlier.
Dawn's eyes darted around the room, confusion etched on her face. "Huh?"
"Did you just say my mother is dead?" Eisley asked, her voice trembling with shock. Her brows knitted together, and her eyes darkened with disbelief.
