"It's nearly five cresce, and Sula still isn't here." Wiy twisted on her bed in her cubicle of a chamber. Budik shared this bed with her, admiring Wiy's dark eyes and savouring the moment they weren't interrupted by Sula's selfishness. Wiy's cropped hair fell to the side, revealing a hidden misshaped ear that must have been clipped off a very long time ago. Budik winced at the darker orangeness, almost blackened ear scar.
"Why do you still care for Sula?" Budik asked suddenly, watching Wiy with intent. "After everything she did to you."
Wiy realized her ear was revealed and pulled her hair to cover it. "What do you mean? Sula helps us in the best way she can. She's not the best person in the Dome, but I can see through her tough charade. She is sweet."
"Did she do that to you?" Budik tilted her chin to Wiy's ear. Wiy puffed her cheek, looking the other way. "It was an accident."
