Wallace's initial cheer at capturing the legendary beast quickly faded, replaced by a cold determination. He looked down at the capturing ball in his hand, the creature within, and felt a strange detachment. "It's just a means to an end," he muttered to himself, pocketing the ball and turning his gaze back toward the path ahead.
He began his journey back to the first immortal shelter, his steps purposeful and measured.
Unlike before, he did not summon his phoenix chick to accompany him.
He wanted it to rest for now,.especially for now as he knew it would need it.
The path to the shelter was smooth and uneventful.
Wallace moved with the confidence of someone who had faced and overcome great challenges, his mind already turning to the next task. He reached the shelter without incident and headed straight for the immortal recovery pavilion.
