Only when he heard the whimpering sounds of the hound next to him, did he manage to regain his composure.
"Doggo, well done," he said, petting the hound. He had retracted his control over the beast when he panicked. He retrieved a bottle of restorative potion from his pocket and let the hound drink it.
The potion seemed to work well on the hound as it quickly was able to get up and brush his head against Damon. They were at the end of a deserted alley, where sounds of humans were heard faintly.
