'Oh, this woman can use Magic?' Andrian thought.
He planned to hold back to gather information about the woman's strength. By analyzing most of her abilities, Andrian could devise a counter to defeat her quickly.
Chapter Start
Seeing her attack dodged, the woman was shocked by Andrian's sudden, swift movements. She also sensed the flow of Andrian's mana concentrating in his legs, indicating that he used magic to evade her spell.
The question that puzzled her was how Andrian could use magic without chanting a spell. She was certain that when she attacked Andrian with "Wind Bullet," she neither saw nor heard him chant any incantation.
'How can he use magic without chanting a spell?!' she thought, her eyes widening in surprise.
So far, she had never encountered anyone who could use magic without chanting a spell. Even with her extensive knowledge of magic, she was confident that spells couldn't be cast without an incantation.
Andrian could see the wide-eyed shock on the mysterious woman's face.
Without hesitation, Andrian seized the opportunity to counterattack while the woman was frozen in surprise.
Using the spell "Sonic Dash" to accelerate his movements, he shot towards the woman with incredible speed and then struck her with a punch.
Bam!!!
Whoosh!!
Andrian's punch landed squarely on the woman's face, sending her flying backward. With his enhanced physical strength and attacks, Andrian's blow was no small matter.
"Ugh," the woman groaned in pain after receiving Andrian's powerful punch to her face.
'Damn, I lowered my guard for a moment and acted carelessly,' she thought.
The woman quickly stood up, straightening her body, and prepared to counterattack Andrian despite the pain in her face.
"I don't know how you can use magic without chanting, but I can still defeat you!" she declared firmly.
Andrian didn't respond to her words and focused instead on analyzing the strengths of his opponent.
"O mighty winds that traverse the skies, heed my call and gather strength."
Andrian, who was analyzing the woman, found himself puzzled.
'Does casting a spell really require chanting so clearly? I could attack her now while she's chanting, but it's better to wait and see what spell she uses,' Andrian thought, calmly observing his opponent's slow incantation.
"By the fury of the storm, unleash the Tempest Gale!"
Whoosh!!
Boom!!
A powerful gust of wind exploded from the woman, creating a tempestuous gale that surged towards Andrian with tremendous force. Andrian braced himself, his eyes narrowing as he assessed the spell's potency and prepared his next move.
This was also a great opportunity for Andrian to use his fire magic, as the woman's attack was wind magic, creating a stormy gale.
Andrian smiled faintly and began to counterattack with his fire magic.
'Fire Wall,' Andrian chanted in his mind.
Whoosh!!
A wall of fire appeared, stretching long in front of Andrian and the woman.
Swoosh!!
The wall of fire grew larger and more uncontrollable due to the stormy wind magic the woman had used.
The woman's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't expected Andrian to use fire magic as a counter to her wind storm. What surprised her even more was Andrian's precise mana control and his magic prowess.
'Again, he's using magic without chanting! And it's elemental magic. How on earth is he able to use magic without incantations?!' the woman thought.
But at the same time, she had to avoid the massive blaze coming her way. To make matters worse, the fire from the magic used by the man in front of her had grown stronger, fiercer, and larger due to her own storm spell.
"Damn! I have to avoid this fire no matter what," the woman muttered.
Whoosh!!
Boom!! Boom!!
She quickly managed to evade the enormous flames, but not without suffering burns on various parts of her body.
The mask she wore was also scorched, and parts of her clothing were slightly burned. The fire had been too immense and powerful for her to avoid unscathed, even if she managed to escape it.
"Huft..huft..huft.." The woman panted heavily, having used all her strength to evade Andrian's previous attack.
Seeing the condition of the woman before him, Andrian grew more puzzled.
'Why does this woman seem so weak to me?' Andrian thought as he observed his opponent.
How could it be otherwise? Andrian had only been using basic techniques to pressure his opponent. If his basic attacks and magic were enough to overwhelm her, what would happen if he used his intermediate or higher-level spells? To him, that would be overkill.
What surprised him even more was the fact that the woman he was fighting was an elf. An elf!!
Andrian realized this upon seeing her features: the long, pointed ears, the golden hair, and her wind magic. There was no doubt she was of the elven race.
The question was, what was this elf seeking, and why was she spying on him?
"Oh, so you're an elf, huh? This is my first time meeting an elf in person," Andrian remarked.
The elf glared at Andrian with a hostile look. "So what if I'm an elf? That has nothing to do with you right now, outsider!" she snapped.
Andrian shook his head. "Why should I care about your race? The question is, why were you spying on me?"
"And why should I answer your question?"
"Do you have any other choice than to answer me? Given your current state, things will only get worse if we continue this fight," Andrian said calmly.
However, he remained vigilant. Despite the situation being in his favor, he had to stay cautious because he didn't know what the elf woman might do next.
"Do you think I would surrender just because of this situation? I've been through worse than this!" the elf said angrily.
"Come on woman, can't we resolve this without violence?" Andrian sighed.
"Never!" the elf woman declared firmly.
Andrian facepalmed at her response. "Aren't elves supposed to be an elegant race? Am I mistaken? Or are you perhaps a barbarian in disguise?"
Hearing Andrian's remark, the woman felt insulted and grew even angrier.
"How dare you belittle me, Outsider!" the elf woman yelled angrily.
"From the whispers of the breeze to the roar of the tempest, I command the winds to forge a thousand blades. Thousand Wind Blade, unleash thy fury!"
Thousands of sharp wind blades began to form in the air, slicing and creating waves that flew towards Andrian at high speed. Each wind blade rained down on Andrian with deadly force, creating chaos and destruction on the battlefield.
With this spell, the elf could unleash a deadly and widespread attack, giving her a strategic advantage against Andrian.
Whoosh!!
Slash!! 10x
Slash!! 10x
"Too slow!" Andrian exclaimed.
Quickly, he managed to evade the dangerous slashes from the elf's wind magic by using "Sonic Dash".
Although Andrian suffered some minor cuts, he ignored them and sought an opening to counterattack.
It was his swift movements that allowed Andrian to dodge all the deadly slashes from the elf's wind magic.
Seeing this, the elf woman grew even more frustrated by Andrian's speed. From start to finish, what annoyed her the most was Andrian's incredible speed, which put her at a disadvantage.
"So fast! He's even able to dodge all the attacks from my 'Thousand Wind Blade' spell with ease!" the elf thought.
The situation became increasingly unfavorable for her because even when she tried to attack with high-level magic, Andrian could easily evade it. Attempting to flee was also impossible because of Andrian's speed; he could easily catch up to her.
Without waiting any longer, Andrian swiftly moved behind the elf.
Bam!!
Andrian made the elf unconscious by striking the back of her head.
The elf widened her eyes in shock and panic. However, she couldn't do anything because shortly after, her vision started to blur, and her consciousness began to fade away.
With disbelieving eyes, she looked at Andrian and muttered, "You..." before finally losing consciousness.
Sigh.
Andrian sighed tiredly, then caught the elf woman's body as she nearly fell to the ground after being knocked out. He would interrogate her later and gather information about why this elf was spying on him.
Andrian thought, 'I'm still puzzled by this elf. Why does she have to chant her spells loudly and let me know what type of magic she's using? Why is she so slow in chanting her spells?' as he looked at the unconscious elf woman in his arms.
"Sigh... Forget it, it's better to take her to the base and wait for her to regain consciousness before I interrogate her later."
Then he decided to return to his base while carrying the unconscious elf woman.
His mind was currently evaluating the outcome of his fight with the elf.
He gained a lot of insights into using magic in combat. He was even able to devise precise magic counters after analyzing the elf during their fight.
However, Andrian couldn't conclude how strong elves were generally in this world. If he rushed to the conclusion that all elves had the same strength or were even slightly stronger than the one he just fought, it would be a mistake.
Andrian knew that not all elves had the same level of strength as the one he fought. There might be some of them who were much stronger.
Therefore, he had to prepare himself and remain vigilant if he ever faced a similar situation with a stronger enemy.
