Chereads / RWBY: Oscar the gamer / Chapter 15 - I didn't need to know that

Chapter 15 - I didn't need to know that

Oscar then looked at his team, and looked back at Yang, she was probably/Definitely Joking about the system, as he looked at his team he thought of asking the system. "Hey system can I see the stats and other things".

[ Yes host you can, you see the level's, title and even some of thehe back story, but that depends on how much your have bonded with them ]

Oscar then mentally spoke to the system about that. "Wait sense when can I do that".

[ Sense you had me, just don't stare on the girls for too long ]

Oscar then spoke in his mind again. "Ok what didn't I know this before".

[ You didn't ask, the System can't tell you something you don't know ]

Oscar mentally spoke again, as he took another bite. "That is Bullshit".

As Oscar processed the system's explanation, he couldn't help but roll his eyes. Of course, it can't tell me something I didn't know, he thought, taking another bite of the food he had prepared. He had to admit, it wasn't the worst meal he'd ever had, but the system's lack of transparency was definitely starting to get under his skin.

"Alright, so... I can check their stats now, huh?" Oscar muttered under his breath, more to himself than anyone else.

[System Notification: Host has requested to view team members' stats. Please focus on one individual for a detailed overview.]

Oscar hesitated for a moment. He could feel the weight of the decision as the team chatted amongst themselves. Should I look at someone's stats now? he wondered. I guess it wouldn't hurt…

With that thought, he focused on Yang, his eyes briefly glancing toward her as she casually leaned back in her chair, sipping from her cup. He felt an odd combination of curiosity and caution, given the system's warnings about staring.

Oscar blinked in surprise. This is more detailed than I expected. I didn't think I'd get a backstory too. He quickly glanced around the room to make sure no one had noticed his distraction. Okay, let's see what else I can pull up.

Oscar mentally sighed, feeling a weight on his chest. Blake's backstory is… a lot. He couldn't help but feel an odd sense of understanding. She wasn't the only one with a difficult past.

Oscar finished reading and felt a strange sense of bonding with his teammates. Their stats and backstories gave him a deeper understanding of them, and he realized how much he had yet to learn about each of them. This team... they're all dealing with their own struggles, he thought, glancing at each of them. But we're in this together.

As he sat back and finished his meal, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of camaraderie. They might be different, with different pasts and abilities, but they were Team ROWBY. And for now, that was enough.

Oscar then stopped, he then to try wash room, he checks Blake statuses over and over and over and over again. "She is a Faunus, she was part of the white fang".

[ Is that a Problem Host ]

Oscar then spoke back to the system in a wishper, hoping the other didn't hear him. "Yes, because that is something I didn't need to know, something I shouldn't know at all, this is.... Oh wow I can't believe that happened".

Oscar's mind raced as he processed the new information he had learned about Blake. The realization hit him harder than he expected. She's a Faunus… and she was part of the White Fang? His thoughts were a whirlwind, his emotions conflicted. He knew the White Fang was a militant group, fighting for Faunus rights but resorting to increasingly violent tactics. The fact that Blake had been a part of it made him uneasy, but the system's revelation made things more complicated.

He glanced toward Blake, who was talking with Ruby and Yang in the living area, seemingly unaware of his internal turmoil. Does she want anyone to know that? He couldn't help but wonder. Blake's quiet, sometimes brooding demeanor, her reluctance to talk about her past—it all suddenly made more sense, but at the same time, it made things harder for him.

[System Notification: Host's reaction registered. Processing…]

Oscar let out a mental sigh, glancing at the bathroom door before responding to the system, his voice low and barely audible. "Yes, this is a problem, and no, it's not something I wanted to know. Blake hasn't told anyone, so why did the system—"

[System Notification: Information disclosed due to the bonding level between Host and Team ROWBY. Data related to teammates can be accessed as bonds deepen.]

Oscar froze for a moment, feeling the weight of the system's words. Bonding level? So, I didn't even have a choice in the matter?

He began to pace in the small space of the dorm room, trying to make sense of everything. Okay, I get it, I've bonded with them in some way by being on the same team... But this feels too invasive, especially when it comes to Blake's past. Oscar couldn't help but feel conflicted. I don't want to betray her trust by knowing things she hasn't shared with anyone else.

But the system's response lingered in his mind. I can't unlearn this. I can't un-know it now.

He sighed heavily, his head pounding with frustration. How do I even approach this? Should I talk to her about it? Should I pretend I don't know?

[System Notification: Host has reached a high stress level. Suggestion: Take a break or relax. Processing of teammate data can continue later.]

Oscar stopped in his tracks. Right… He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Maybe the system's right. I need to clear my head before I do anything else.

But the doubt still lingered. What if Blake found out he knew? What if this was the kind of information that could change everything about their team dynamic? What if she found about his past? What would she think about it

The memory's of the fire once again plays, he closes his head trying to forget remember not all people are the same and not to judge the action of a few to the whole race, that is what is aunt said

Oscar shook his head, trying to push those thoughts aside for now. He was going to need time to figure out how to handle this. But for now, he decided to do what the system suggested—take a step back.

With a final glance toward the others, he made his way toward the washroom, hoping to clear his mind before everything spiraled out of control.

Oscar stood in the living room, waiting for his teammates to come out of the bathroom and get dressed. He tried to focus on other things, but his mind kept wandering back to the overwhelming information the system had provided him with the day before about Blake. It wasn't that he wanted to dwell on it, but the knowledge was too much to simply forget.

With a final glance toward the others, he made his way toward the washroom, hoping to clear his mind before everything spiraled out of control.

Oscar just then went to sleep, as next morning arrived and everyone went to change the girls allows Oscar to use the Bathroom first, he took a shower and kept what he learned yesterday in the back of his mind, the he came out wearing the Beacon academy uniform

As he sat there, lost in his thoughts, the door opened, and Ruby stepped out first. She was wearing the typical Beacon Academy uniform, though as always, there was a certain untamed energy to her. Her ribbon was slightly askew, and a couple of buttons on her blazer were loose. Oscar couldn't help but smile a little at the familiar sight. Ruby was Ruby, after all. Always a little disorganized, but somehow endearing.

Next was Weiss, who stepped out in her version of the uniform. Her look was neat and polished, of course—her shorts long and practical, her boots perfectly placed. It was the kind of look that screamed "I'm in control," and it suited her well. Oscar gave a small nod of appreciation, impressed by how effortlessly Weiss managed to look both stylish and professional.

Blake was the third to come out. She wore her uniform with an effortless style, but there was something different about it. Her vest was fully unbuttoned, giving the impression that she didn't particularly care about the uniform's formality. It was… well, typical Blake. Her hair was as well-kept as always, but there was a quiet coolness about her appearance that drew Oscar's gaze, even if he tried to avoid it.

Finally, Yang emerged, and Oscar felt his face immediately heat up. She was wearing leggings and a skirt, and the uniform fit her curves in ways that made Oscar's heart skip a beat. He quickly tried to look away, but his eyes flickered back toward her. Of course, Yang being Yang, her top was unbuttoned just enough to make her look like she was deliberately teasing him. The "boob window" was definitely not a coincidence. Oscar mentally screamed at himself to keep his composure, reminding himself that he was only 14 and that he needed to stop thinking like that.

Yang flashed him a mischievous grin, clearly noticing his discomfort, and Oscar could already tell that she was going to have a lot of fun teasing him in the future. He did his best to look at her face and not lower, but it was like a struggle of willpower he wasn't entirely ready for.

Trying to shake it off, Oscar cleared his throat and stood up. "Well, I guess we're all ready," he said, trying to sound casual, though his voice came out a little more strained than he'd like.

Ruby, oblivious to Oscar's inner turmoil, smiled brightly. "Yep! Let's go meet the others! I'm so excited to start classes!"

Weiss just gave him a side-eye. "You're a mess, Oscar."

He chuckled nervously, feeling the heat in his cheeks. "I—I don't know what you're talking about."

Yang gave him a wink. "Oh, we know exactly what we're talking about, Oscar."

Blake, as usual, remained silent but shot him a knowing glance. Oscar couldn't help but feel like he was slowly losing control of the situation, but at least the day was moving forward.

As they all gathered their things and prepared to leave, Oscar couldn't help but wonder how he was going to survive the day without mentally combusting. Between his growing bond with his teammates, the strange system giving him constant updates, and, well, everything else, this was going to be one heck of an experience. But for better or for worse, he was in this now. He was part of Team ROWBY. And somehow, that made everything feel a little more manageable—even if his teenage heart was racing at a thousand miles an hour.
