Mark had just woken up and taken a shower. In accordance with his daily routine he proceeded to brush his teeth. As he reached for the paste he noticed a crack in the mirror he had above the sink.
'Is it already time to replace the mirror?' he thought as he reached out to it. Suddenly the cracks quadrupled continuing to grow.
He took a step back shocked by the sudden progress of the cracks but he was too late. He turned back trying to run but like homing missiles the glass shards penetrated him, killing him instantly.
He expected a slow and painful death but to his surprise, seconds later he was already awake. Regaining consciousness he jumped back expecting something only to receive nothing.
"What the fuck where am I!" a man dressed in rags next to him said. Finally taking notice to the people around him, Mark straightened himself and looked around.
Even if he didn't have the best mentality, the fact he wasn't injured and felt no pain was enough for him to realize he was either safe or in a dangerous position.
"I- I thought I d- died what happened." Following in unison several other people also mentioned how they experienced a near death experience.Â
Interrupting them a massive figure reaching 40 feet in height manifested. Following the figure a purple screen appeared before Mark.
[GODS LAST HOPE {system initiating}]
[System Initiated welcome user MARK WHITERUN]
Mark was flabbergasted but considering how real this all felt to him this was not as surprising to Mark as it was to others.
WELCOME SAVIORS OF HUMANITYÂ I WILL BE YOUR GUIDE- the giant figure said in a loud and commanding voice.Â
Suddenly as if receiving resistance from the very world itself the so-called "Guide" faded in and out at unreal speeds until everything came crashing down.
Whatever structure held Mark was hurdling down at alarming speeds and if there was no intervention Mark could die.
Everyone started screaming and like the guide before them they too began to fade away however at a much slower pace.
Slowly opening his eyes Mark saw the purple screen yet again this time with different text.
[It seems the most I can do for your world is to summon half the population. Do not be worried however as each of you have received abilities derived from whatever object had killed you. Be wary however as the legion of the Underworld evolve at deadly rates. I fear 4 billion people might have been too little to save the world...] and just like that the purple screen faded away.
But the clearance of his vision was short lived as yet another screen appeared this one blue in color.
[Name - Mark Whiterun
Level - 1{0/10}Â Points - 0
Race - Inferior Human
Skill Talent - Infinite
Physique - 4/10 (Average 3)
Mind - 3/10 (Average 3)
Skills - Mirror Dimension(?)/Mirror Creation(?)]
Just like that the screen ended leaving Mark with more questions than answers. Mark was baffled as he expected something more professional.
These expectations were based of the fact the system was supposedly made by the Gods. At least in this form he could understand what it said clearly.
Physique would increase all his physical attributes like Agility, Strength, Endurance etc. What he didn't get however was what mind did.Â
'I'll just figure that out later I guess' Mark thought moving on to his skills.
One thing Mark didn't understand was why there was a question mark next to skills that seemed easy to understand. Perhaps this was there for skills that were more vague?
After mentally dismissing the screen Mark pondered what his mission for being here was. He heard something about being a savior but honestly to him saving the world even with 4 billion people seemed impossible especially because there was no order.
Another thing he wondered about was the Underworld Legion the screen mentioned earlier so far he hadn't taken sight of these threats that garnered the attention of the Gods. Suddenly out of nowhere a pitch black zombie like creature came behind Mark threatening to end his short stay.
'Thank God for this things slow ass movements I was almost gone just like that' Mark thought. Launching himself forward Mark aimed to end the zombie-like creature.
