Among the four great families, Mr. Sun Sr. of the Sun Family, known as Sun Haishan, along with Mr. Gu Sr., are the only surviving elders.
Mr. Gu Sr. had long since faded from the management of the family, devoting himself to self-cultivation and nurture, whereas Sun Haishan of the Sun Family still held the family's reins, managing the vast Sun Family enterprise despite his advanced age of over eighty.
Sun Haishan had three sons, Sun Tao and Sun Wen; one skilled in martial arts and the other in literature, both incredibly formidable, especially Sun Tao who currently held an important position within the Central Plains Military Region, enjoying an extremely honored status. Only the third son, Sun Hua, was good-for-nothing, idle, and the least promising.
