Swarming bloodthirsty mutant rats were frantically chasing after Liu Mang and his group, getting closer and closer. One mercenary had been pounced on, never to rise again, and was quickly turned into a tasty snack by dozens, if not hundreds of mutant rats.
More mutant rats continued the pursuit. The mercenaries at the back of the squad sensed danger, quickly discarding their heavy firearms and backpacks, and without looking, pulled out two grenades and tossed them behind them.
With two booming explosions, the blast wave from the grenades swept through hundreds of mutant rats, and shrapnel and steel pellets killed or wounded many.
The terrifying power of the explosion halted the horde of mutant rats momentarily.
Before anyone in the squad could catch their breath, the mutant rats surged forward again like a tide.
