The gate manifested in the nightmare as East Lake, where the frozen waters bore the accumulated despair of generations. Those dark thoughts transformed into fish that swam through the dark, serving both as succulent fish meat and man-eating monsters.
This place was the closest pathway to the Deep Nightmare, the easiest area for the living to get lost, and the favorite haunt of the Flesh Giant Tree.
Numerous "fish" were pierced by branches and leaves, and the Flesh Giant Tree frantically plundered all negative emotions. The unease of the human world whipped up its appetite; greed could hardly describe its horror.
In a very short time, the Flesh Giant Tree grew rapidly, breaking the limits on the size of fish in the lake. Its branches spread upwards, about to break the lake's surface, while its roots grew downwards, connecting with the Blood Gate at the lake's bottom.
