Bayer knelt before Amberser, his heart still unwilling.
A mere mortal, merely relying on the power of Hell to suppress himself. Amberser knew that Bayer didn't accept this, but it didn't matter, as he had felt the same way about Zariel. He had thought it a disgrace to be subdued by an angel, yet he had ended up serving Zariel for so many years.
This guy was just a bully who targeted the weak and feared the strong. Amberser wasn't afraid of being attacked; at most, this illusory body would be killed by Bayer, but Amberser would still be the spirit of the Magic Mirror, and his true form wouldn't be hurt.
Amberser asked, "Bayer, have you checked on the demon my followers captured, as I asked you to?"
Bayer hesitated and said awkwardly, "Sorry, the battle lines were tense just now, and I haven't had the chance to check."
Amberser snorted coldly, piercing through Bayer's little scheme, "I see you didn't take my words to heart."
