In the tavern, Amberser's consciousness had already returned to his armor. He said to Yeg with resignation, "I hadn't expected Hircine to curse me using the Magic Mirror. Isn't Aeo going to do anything about it?"
Yeg chuckled and responded to Amberser, "Although Aeo restricts deities from interfering with mortals, he can't stop them from fighting back when you are trying to snatch away Hircine's Deity Position."
"That's hardly my fault, I've never actively stolen it."
Amberser shook his head, feeling unjustly accused to the extreme.
Indeed, he had truly never contemplated stealing the Prince of Lies' Deity Position, but such matters were somewhat conceptual. When everyone believed alchemy was powerful, the God of Alchemy possessed formidable Divine Power. When everyone believed Amberser was the real Prince of Lies, then Hircine's Deity Position would be in jeopardy.
