"Set up a Hell Bank? The type that goblins play with, lending and borrowing?"
Zariel had originally scoffed at this, as such a mortal tactic often doesn't work in Hell.
Amberser could tell from Zariel's attitude and proceeded to explain, "There was no bank in Hell before because there are many reasons, one of which is that you have too few general equivalents. Soul Currency in Hell is a consumable, not just used as money, and that's the biggest problem."
But Amberser wasn't really looking to establish a bank in Hell; he was just testing the waters.
For the revival of the Goddess of Wealth, and to make his tens of millions of Soul Currencies more valuable, Amberser would suggest this seemingly reliable proposal.
The emergence of a bank requires the most basic economic conditions, and Hell is a slave society. Big devils control the small devils, and the small devils control the malevolent spirit workers underneath them; in theory, there is no basis for a bank.
