Not a repayment of a debt of gratitude?
Ning Xia was stunned for a moment. If he was not here to ask for her hand in marriage because he owed her for saving his life, then why was he? Suddenly, she widened her eyes in panic.
Bo Siyan rose from the couch and walked towards Ning Xia, his tone indifferent but his words thundering mightily, clear as day, "Do you think I don't know you slapped me?"
As expected...
Ning Xia instinctively stepped back, "There was a reason for that."
The man scoffed and took another step closer, "Do you think I don't know you also punched me hard?"
"That was also... for a reason."
"No one has ever dared to touch a hair on my body. You've got some nerve, woman!"
Bo Siyan's voice was still deep and pleasant, but the sinister tone was like a sharp blade stabbing straight at her, startling Ning Xia so much she plopped down onto the couch behind her.
With a slap, Bo Siyan's hands landed on the armrests of the couch, fencing Ning Xia in front of him. He leaned down, his body tilting forward, pressing ever closer, forcing Ning Xia to lean back so far that her upper body was nearly suspended in air.
"Tell me, how do you want to die?"
Looking at the handsome face so close to hers, and surrounded by a scent that was all male, Ning Xia felt extremely uncomfortable. She swallowed hard and said, "Mr. Bo, how about we change positions first, then discuss how I die?"
Bo Siyan's dark eyes quickly filled with amusement, his lips curling into a mischievous smile, "Very well."
Very well and you're still not backing off? Wait a second... That look he's giving me now, the 'you've successfully caught my attention' look, what's that about?
"If you're trying to catch my attention in this manner, you've succeeded."
"..." Could you please change your line, buddy?
"So, pay your debt."
Pfft...
Ning Xia reflexively wrapped her arms around her chest, watching him warily, "Mr. Bo, I... I saved you, after all. A life saved warrants a fountain of gratitude in return!"
Bo Siyan coolly looked back at her, "Didn't you say that one should not expect repayment for doing a good deed?"
That was then, this is now!
"Repayment, of course, must be made!" Ning Xia nodded frantically, as though pounding garlic.
"Since you insist on repayment, I'll have to grant your wish and bestow my body on you."
Bo Siyan's face was the picture of charity as he looked at her, making no effort to hide his disdain, "Had you not saved me, don't even dream of me sparing you a glance!"
A negative... number?
Ning Xia, shocked, looked down at her chest and roared angrily, "What negative number? I'm at least... at least an A, okay?"
"I didn't see that."
"Cough cough." Ning Xia coughed angrily, her eyes rounding as she prepared to fight for her dignity. She looked up, meeting the man's eerie dark eyes.
A gentleman can be killed, but not insulted!
She moved her lips, ready to go all out, and blurted, "Your discerning eyes are correct, I am indeed a negative number..."
"Not bad, quite self-aware."
Forget it, forget it, these are not the main point. The point is, after all the roundabouts, we are back to square one, like throwing a rock on one's own foot!
But who asked for his proposition? Could she just beg him to take it back? Beg him to spare her a glance?
She remembers, as a child, being bullied by Bo Siyan frequently, his atrocities too numerous to record. Every night she would hide under her covers, drawing circles and cursing the little tyrant.
Ning Xia counted on her fingers, trying to negotiate, "Mr. Bo, is there a second option?"
